President Trump is preparing to unleash an enormous political war chest for Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections, saying his operation now controls roughly $800 million.

That staggering pledge gives the GOP a powerful financial weapon as the battle for Congress approaches.

Trump confirmed his plans during an interview with Punchbowl News reporter Jake Sherman that was released Friday.

When Sherman asked whether the president intended to deploy the massive reserve during the midterms, Trump made clear that Republican candidates would receive help.

The announcement ends months of speculation surrounding the growing fortune controlled by Trump and his allies.

Republican donors and political strategists had been waiting for signs that the money would move from bank accounts into competitive races where control of Congress will be decided.

MAGA Inc., Trump’s flagship super PAC, has spent months assembling one of the largest political reserves in the country.

Yet the organization has largely avoided major direct spending in contested races, prompting questions about when Trump’s political machine planned to enter the fight.

Federal Election Commission records showed that the PAC held about $400 million in cash at the end of June.

The organization had also raised nearly $100 million during the year, an extraordinary haul that demonstrated Trump’s continuing command over the Republican fundraising universe.

Trump offered an even larger number during his interview, saying his broader political operation now controls approximately $800 million.

If deployed aggressively, that money could reshape House and Senate contests while forcing Democrats to spend heavily in races they once believed would be easier.

The PAC expanded its cash reserves by another $18 million during June alone.

That fundraising burst received assistance from major donors, including NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman and billionaire twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.

Recent expenditures, however, focused mainly on consulting costs, banking fees, credit card payments, online fundraising services, and event photography.

Campaign advertising was not the central destination, leaving some Republicans wondering why such a formidable arsenal remained parked while election deadlines kept moving closer.

The restrained approach frustrated party officials and donors who feared that valuable organizing and advertising time was slipping away.

Republicans face a demanding midterm environment, and even a massive bank account does little good if candidates cannot use it to define their opponents early.

Trump’s political team repeatedly assured concerned Republicans that the money would eventually be spent.

Officials declined to identify specific races, spending levels, or a timeline, keeping both allies and Democrats guessing about where the financial hammer might fall.

White House political director James Blair said last month that the operation would not disclose its schedule, targets, or planned spending totals.

Some reports have indicated that money could begin flowing after the 2026 Republican midterm convention, when the party’s broader battlefield becomes clearer.

MAGA Inc. has not spent directly on a federal race since March, when it contributed nearly $18,000 to support Representative Clay Fuller’s House campaign in Georgia.

That limited activity stood in sharp contrast to the towering amount of cash accumulated by Trump’s political network.

The PAC later transferred $560,000 to MAGA KY, a separate organization that supported a primary challenger against Representative Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky.

That group subsequently shut down in July, adding more intrigue to questions about the operation’s broader strategy.

Major Republican donors had privately pressed Trump and his advisers to begin deploying the bankroll.

They wanted a clearer plan for protecting vulnerable incumbents, expanding the congressional map, and ensuring Democrats could not gain an early financial advantage through unanswered advertising.

Trump’s remarks now appear to answer those concerns in unmistakable fashion.

The president intends to use his political fortune to boost Republican candidates in November, and Democrats may soon discover that their midterm plans come with an $800 million MAGA sized complication.
