‘Woke One Was Crazy’

Jonathan Karl obviously has a crush on AOC. 

I get it. AOC is attractive, powerful, and clearly has terrible taste in men. It’s a killer combo for a guy like Karl. 

Of course, when you are the Chief Washington Correspondent for ABC, it’s a bad look to indulge yourself by giving a pass to a potential presidential candidate with enough political clout to lead presidential preference polls among young Democrats, and an overall approval rate among Democrats of 60 percent to 80 percent. 

And what a pass he gave her.

“Woke One was crazy” is not an acceptable answer,” just as “oops” is not an acceptable response to the absolute disaster that was the COVID response and all the lies during 2020-2022 that turned lives upside-down. 

This interview was the anti-Brennan. With Margaret Brennan’s “interview” of Jay Bhattacharya this weekend, she took the opportunity to spin a ridiculous theory that Donald Trump and RFK Jr. were responsible for the shooting last year at the CDC, based solely on the fact that she dislikes them because they exposed the lies of Pravda and Fauci. 

She preened about what a good journalist she was during COVID (what a joke). Karl here is preening to impress AOC with how understanding he is about the bats**t crazy things she and every wokester said over the years.

To put this in perspective, whenever a Republican politician gets in trouble, every Republican in the nation is beaten to a pulp in an attempt to wrap a gaffe by somebody around their necks.

Here, AOC is asked about a candidate she has personally gotten to the finish line, largely because said candidate is as bats**t crazy as she is, and AOC’s response is basically “we aren’t responsible for our crazy ideas.”

People are DEAD because of those ideas. Entire police forces were decimated and are still trying to recover. Cities like Seattle, Minneapolis, Portland, and Chicago still haven’t recovered — their downtowns emptied out and have remained so six years later. 

For the most part, Woke Two is a minor variation of Woke One, only repackaged, and yet AOC and Jonathan Karl can chuckle about it?

Why is Francesca Hong likely to win tomorrow’s Democrat Party Wisconsin governor primary? Because of Woke One. It’s the only reason she got on the radar screen for AOC and Bernie, and the DSA is still deep into Woke One, and AOC’s candidates are all DSA-types. AOC said “Woke One was crazy” because she wants to help these candidates pivot for the general election, so they can pull an Abigail Spanberger and run left after a general election victory.

Karl here is playing along with the idea that Hong has “changed” and matured, as if the radical positions she took until just yesterday say nothing about her judgment or underlying beliefs. 

It’s pathetic. That’s not journalism. It’s a guy making time with a cute girl at a party, which I suppose is a metaphor for how all Pravda figures treat the Democrat Party figures they interview, even when they aren’t cute.

Forget for the moment how any Pravda figure would treat a Republican in a remotely similar circumstance, and just focus on whether this makes sense by any standard for a journalist two days before a major primary, or a year and a half before AOC likely jumps into the presidential race. 

Jessica Tarlov claims AOC now is a “Moderate Dem” as compared to the “core DSA wing.”

Scott Galloway agrees that this is a “fair point.”

Are Americans learning anything about their actual choices, or are we witnessing a media figure acting like a “fluffer” on a porn set? 

Ironically, in the long run, this doesn’t help the Democrats. AOC would be a manifestly terrible choice for the Democrats in a presidential campaign. The average voter can see she barely qualifies as a lightweight. If she were a white male in a college freshman class, she would be a C- student. 

I put it that way because in today’s world, a woman of color is always an ‘A’ student, which is how AOC got where she is.
