Ghastly – Jason Arday Is Dead

Jeez.

What a horrible ending to a fairy tale story that never should have been.

Jason Arday, the former University of Cambridge professor, has been found dead.

Mr Arday was found “unresponsive” at an address in Battersea, south London, on Friday afternoon. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 3.12pm on Friday.

He said: “Sadly, a 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

“At this time his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious. The case is being investigated by officers from the Met’s Central South Command Unit. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

This is horrible and a really ghastly ending, and I am truly sorry to hear that this obviously fragile young man felt this was his only way out.

I so wish he had been stronger, like the Arday in his stories.

Or at least as enterprising in the next phase of his life after this one blew apart so spectacularly, and I can’t say ‘through no one’s fault but his own,’ because it never on God’s green Earth should have been allowed to go this far.

You know there’s a ‘but’ in here, and it has to be said.

The preening, self-righteous, virtue-signaling academics who were so desperate to glom onto this disabled, man-of-color fantasy and display him to the world as something he absolutely was not bear as much responsibility for this young man’s demise as the wondrous, impossible, ludicrous stories Jason Arday spun do.

As I said earlier in the one piece I wrote about it, Arday’s fanciful flights would have sent the girl looking over resumes at Target into howling reams of laughter, and he couldn’t have gotten a job as a stock boy. But to those revolting Brahmins in their overeducated world. In their bubble castles, drinking deeply of that smug, self-satisfied, rarified air, he was this rare bird with shimmery, exotic plumage they could not resist. Something to fuss over and show off. 

A pet for them to parade, ‘Look what we found!’ as a reflection of their sanctimonious cleverness.

I’ll bet there are more noses out of joint that this troubled young man has killed himself than there were that they had willfully allowed themselves to be so royally duped.

That’s the pity. They won’t mourn this kid, this creation of theirs.

…but the real story is of an elite academic world that was so excited by a compelling narrative that they rushed a clearly mentally unbalanced man with no real qualifications to the heights of academia because he ticked so many useful boxes. If anybody had stopped to drill into his story BEFORE we got to the point that he was a notable enough figure for others to begin to drill into it none of this would have happened

And had they taken a deep breath, none of this would have happened. Had they not, as brother Bingley said, had the ‘actual racism of low expectations and fawned over‘ Jason Arday, God rest him, he would be alive somewhere – another anonymous person in this huge world, out there doing something.

But alive to do it. Which ain’t nuthin’, as most of us know.

This is a screaming pity.

But I guarantee you, it won’t be an object lesson. 

And that’s even worse.

Rest in peace, young man.
