Enes Kanter Freedom roasts Angel Reese over late miss, then turns his fire on NBA vet Paul George

Enes Kanter Freedom turned Angel Reese’s latest crunch-time miss into fresh ammo Sunday, roasting the Atlanta Dream star while somehow dragging Paul George into his ongoing WNBA campaign.

Reese bricked a crucial layup late in Atlanta’s 95-91 overtime loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, and Freedom wasted no time pouncing.

He took to X:

“Sis! Once I go No. 1 pick in the 2027 @WNBA Draft, the first player I’m dunking on is Angel Reese. She’s the Paul George of the WNBA. Just lean into the podcast already.”

Reese finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds and six assists, but her biggest miss came with three seconds left in regulation. With the game tied, she missed a point-blank putback that could have won it for Atlanta.

Freedom mocked Reese’s game, but she wasn’t the only one catching heat.

Calling Reese “the Paul George of the WNBA” and telling her to “lean into the podcast” was a dig at George’s “Podcast P,” which launched in 2023.

The nine-time All-Star isn’t exactly putting up prime PG numbers these days, either. He averaged 17.3 points last season, a steep drop from his career-best 28.0 in 2018-19.

The George jab also circled back to the bigger fight Freedom has been pushing for weeks. The 11-year NBA veteran has been challenging the league’s trans eligibility policies by threatening to declare for the 2027 draft himself.

Former NBA forward Royce White has since joined the push.

Freedom laid out his WNBA game plan during an interview with former Auburn coach Bruce Pearl.

“By their rules, if I step on that court and identify as a woman, I am allowed to play,” Kanter told Pearl. “Next spring, I’m going to take my talents and join the WNBA.” He even envisioned joining forces with Clark in Indiana.

“Me and Caitlin will be modern Kobe and Shaq,” he said.
