Ilhan Omar’s Son Caught Up in a Police Raid in Minneapolis [WATCH]

Minneapolis police reportedly raided the apartment shared by the son of Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, though authorities have not indicated that her son was arrested.

The operation instead landed his roommate, Abdulrahman Abdi, behind bars on a weapons charge.

Alpha News reported that it received a statement from the Minneapolis Police Department confirming Abdi was the only person arrested.

Omar’s son, Adnan, apparently remained free following the search, and police have not publicly accused him of committing a crime.

According to the police account, officers initially cited Abdi for driving after cancellation and failing to provide proof of insurance.

Police impounded his vehicle during that encounter and recovered a firearm from inside it, turning an ordinary traffic matter into something considerably more serious.

Officers later arrested Abdi at the apartment he shares with Adnan.

Authorities reportedly seized firearms and ammunition from the residence, though the available statement did not clarify who owned every item or whether investigators believe anyone besides Abdi was involved.

Abdi is currently jailed on a weapons charge and reportedly has 10 convictions on his record.

Records reviewed by The Daily Mail included a felony speeding violation, adding another troubling detail to the background of the man sharing a home with the congresswoman’s son.

There is no public evidence establishing that Adnan participated in Abdi’s alleged criminal conduct.

Still, the living arrangement raises obvious questions about judgment, particularly when the roommate involved has accumulated a lengthy record and now faces another serious accusation.

Omar previously generated headlines by claiming immigration officers stopped her son at a Target store and asked whether he was an American citizen.

She portrayed the incident as racial profiling, feeding the familiar Democratic narrative that routine immigration enforcement must somehow be sinister.

Yet Omar’s own description showed that officers released her son after he presented his passport.

There was no prolonged detention, no arrest, and no reported mistreatment, just a basic citizenship question followed by verification.

A January research article from City Journal reported that Somali immigrant men are incarcerated at twice the rate of native born American men in the same age group.

Minnesota is home to roughly 80,000 Somali immigrants and has become a major sanctuary destination.

Those facts provide context for why immigration officers might conduct enforcement activity in communities with large Somali populations.

Democrats may dislike the statistics, but refusing to acknowledge them does not make immigration law, crime, or enforcement concerns disappear.

The Trump administration has also said there is evidence Omar committed immigration fraud, making her outrage about officers briefly questioning her son especially ironic.

Omar has denied longstanding accusations surrounding her immigration history, but the controversy continues to follow her political career.

Omar and members of her family have additionally surfaced in reporting connected to Minnesota’s enormous public benefits fraud scandal.

The article states that Omar directed money to a clinic operated by her sister while Omar served in state office.

Aimee Bock, the convicted mastermind behind the “Feeding Our Future” scheme, and Minnesota lawmakers reportedly implicated Omar in the theft of about 250 million dollars in taxpayer funds.

When American authorities obtained custody of one Somali defendant, investigators found emails exchanged with Bock under the title “Ilhan’s Office.”

Daily Wire investigative reporter Luke Rosiak also reported evidence involving Omar’s sister, Sahra Noor.

According to that reporting, Noor registered her company at the same address associated with figures in the “Feeding Our Future” scandal and may have helped introduce a central participant to the operation.

Separate allegations have added to the cloud surrounding Omar’s family.

The Republic of Somaliland has accused Omar’s father of complicity in genocide, while Omar has long faced allegations that she entered a fraudulent marriage with her brother to help him remain in the United States.

None of those claims proves Adnan committed wrongdoing in connection with the police search.

But with his roommate jailed, weapons seized, and years of family controversy piling up, this is hardly the clean political image Omar would prefer Minnesota voters to see.
