Andy Burnham was supposed to be the breath of fresh air that blew away the stench of Starmerism.
But then again, Abigail Spanberger was supposed to be a moderate, and James Talarico thinks there are two sexes and loves brisket.
In other words, these things were never true. They are all just new coats of paint trying to cover up a rusty shell. If you are dumb enough to buy what they are selling, that’s on you. Unfortunately, everybody else has to live with your stupidity.

EXCL: The UK must fully commit to reaching net zero by 2050, Andy Burnham argues in the @guardian. In his strongest comments yet, he says it’s no longer possible for Brits to believe they’re not already affected by climate change.
The UK must “believe in itself”, he says, as he sets out his determination to reach net zero targets, which have been rejected by the Tories and Reform UK.
The tone marks a contrast to the summer, when he faced criticism for a muted response to the heatwaves, droughts and wildfires that affected the UK, with his main initiative being a ban on portable barbecues.
But the issue is still a tricky one for Burnham, who is facing significant pressure from both sides over whether to approve the Jackdaw gasfield (likely) and Rosebank oilfield (less so) in the North Sea.
Some Labour MPs believe approving the projects would send a negative signal to voters tempted by the Greens, who argue govt is insufficiently serious in tackling the climate emergency.
The invasion of Islamic migrants through “small boat crossings” is proceeding apace; women are being told that it’s only fair that they risk sexual assault so that the risks are spread evenly, and after pussyfooting around on the issue of climate change when he was running to become the next PM, Burnham is telling Brits to Keep Calm and Carry On and get ready to boil in summer and freeze in winter for the good of the planet.
As you know, I think the Climate Change agenda is a bunch of hooey; it’s a money and power grab worldwide, and nothing but in places like the UK, which contributes almost nothing to global CO2 emissions. Even if one buys the fearmongering, the UK can do literally nothing to change the outcome because it emits almost no CO2 to begin with. It represents less than 1 percent of global emissions, so any cuts it makes are swamped by the increases in China and India.
It’s no more effective than a sterile man promising to get a vasectomy and wear a condom in order to prevent the next pregnancy. You can do it, but it’s purely symbolic. It is the CO2 equivalent of masking. Pure virtue signaling.
“The UK must believe in itself.” Who is he? Tony Robbins? What does believing in oneself have to do with anything? Pure nonsense. But it is the kind of nonsense that liberals eat up.
Writing for the Guardian about new plans for a mass of community-led local green energy projects, the prime minister said the UK must “believe in itself”, and set out his determination to reach net zero targets, which have been rejected by the Conservatives and Reform UK.
The tone marks a contrast to the summer, when Burnham faced criticism for a seemingly muted response to the heatwaves, droughts and wildfires that affected the UK, with his main initiative being a ban on portable barbecues.
“I am determined that we meet the commitment on which Labour was elected and reach net zero by 2050,” Burnham said. “I want Britain to believe in itself again.”
Saying he wanted to connect local communities to green power projects – to reach net zero targets and make energy more affordable – Burnham said: “I am acutely aware that our changing climate is a major concern for many Britons, not least because we have just emerged from our hottest summer on record.”
He went on: “Punishing heatwaves left nurses collapsing on hospital wards and bus drivers working in 40C cabs. Wildfires destroyed homes, leaving families with nothing. And more extreme weather is forecast in the months ahead.
There is a solution for that: air conditioning.
What I hear when I read this nonsense is something simpler: we have clients to ship money to. It is as persuasive to me as listening to Karen Bass talk about more money for homeless programs, because it has the same effect and the same argument: to get money to distribute to friends and associates for political purposes.
All of this is so predictable, and if any voters feel betrayed by Burnham’s seeming shift in tone and actions, I feel nothing but contempt for them.
