George Kittle signed the richest contract for a tight end in NFL history in April 2025, but it was also his third major deal. By the time the final contract expires in 2029, the three deals will have paid him approximately $155 million.
So the obvious question many athletes often hear was asked by the guys from the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast: What is Kittle’s favorite splurge purchase of all time?
“Building a football field at my house, building a workout facility, putting up a 50-foot American flagpole,” Kittle said. “That’s probably my favorite purchase on my property I’ve made. My wife really likes that one.”

The 50-foot American flagpole now sits on Kittle’s offseason home, which is a roughly 178-acre ranch in the Nashville area of Tennessee.
And, of course, the 50-foot flagpole, as tall as a typical four- or five-story building, displays one enormous flag.
“It’s pretty f—–g massive,” Kittle said. “Right when you pull in, it sits right next to the football field. It’s the only thing you can f—–g see.”
The sight of Old Glory — and all it represents — waving in the wind has got to fire Kittle up.

“It does,” he said. “I saw it last night. We have lights pointing up at it, and I was just, had just got out of the car, I was like, ‘Oh, God, it’s so beautiful.’
“So, yeah, that’s one of my favorite purchases.”
Look, the NFL gets a lot of bad publicity sometimes for the problems some of its employees have with domestic abuse or driving under the influence.
The league itself has been ripped by conservatives for posting social justice messaging on its fields, and it has been accused of taking advantage of its antitrust exemption under the 1961 Sports Broadcasting Act.

But this serves as a reminder that the league is made up of plenty of people like Kittle.
They’re people who love America. They’re proud Americans.
They are patriots, really.
No, not every one of those is erecting a 50-foot flagpole. But so far this year, at least, none are kneeling when the flag is the center of attention during the national anthem.
George Kittle is one of the good guys.
