The time required for FDNY ambulances and fire vehicles to reach a “life-threatening medical emergency” increased by more than a minute and a half.
That combined response time rose from 10 minutes and 21 seconds to 11 minutes and 55 seconds.
The combined FDNY measurement covers two critical pieces of the city’s emergency system, ambulances and fire vehicles.
According to the report, both are included in the response figure for reaching the scene of a medical emergency classified as life-threatening.

Ambulance response times alone posted an even larger increase when compared with last year.
The average climbed by nearly two minutes, rising from 11 minutes and 21 seconds to 13 minutes and nine seconds.
That ambulance figure exceeded the combined response time listed for ambulances and fire vehicles.
Both measurements, however, moved in the same unwelcome direction, with emergency medical response taking longer than it did during the prior year.
The NYPD also recorded an increase in its end-to-end response time for crimes in progress.
That average reached 15 minutes and 21 seconds, adding another sluggish result to the collection of public safety measurements included in the management report.
The department’s response time for critical crimes in progress increased as well, though by a smaller amount.
It rose by 20 seconds, bringing the average response time for that category to nine minutes and 38 seconds.
Not every NYPD response category deteriorated.
The average response time for serious crimes in progress fell 3% this year, reaching 12 minutes and 35 seconds and providing the report’s notable exception to the other increases described.
The serious crime improvement makes the NYPD portion of the report mixed rather than uniformly worse.
Still, response times rose for crimes in progress overall and for critical crimes in progress, while emergency medical response measurements also moved higher.
The troubling response figures arrived alongside a sizable reduction in police overtime spending.
NYPD overtime plunged 12%, with the city spending $966 million on overtime for police officers compared with $1.1 billion last year.
The Mayor’s Management Report therefore presents slower response measurements at the same time that police overtime spending has been cut.
The data provided does not erase the one improved serious crime category, but neither does that improvement cancel the increases elsewhere.
For FDNY-related emergencies, the report shows that patients facing life-threatening medical situations waited longer for ambulances and fire vehicles to arrive.
The ambulance-only figure was slower still, reaching more than 13 minutes after rising by nearly two minutes.
For the NYPD, the average end-to-end response time for crimes in progress surpassed 15 minutes.
Critical crimes in progress received a faster response than that overall category, but their average still increased by 20 seconds to nine minutes and 38 seconds.
The report leaves New York with a stark set of measurements under the Mamdani administration.
