Dan Bongino praised a recent speech by Afroditi Latinopoulou before European Union officials, arguing that her remarks reflected growing public resistance to liberal policies involving immigration, social issues and national sovereignty.

Latinopoulou delivered the remarks in the European Parliament while directly criticizing European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

“Folks, the tide has shifted against DEI, wokeism, men in the women’s room, global illegal immigration,” Bongino said.

Bongino introduced Latinopoulou before playing a portion of her speech, describing her remarks as a direct challenge to European officials and bureaucrats.

“Her name is Afroditi Latinopoulou. If I’m saying your name wrong, it’s not intentional,” Bongino said.

“She’s speaking to the woke European Union and the commissioners over there, and the bureaucrats, and she just goes for it.”

He then encouraged viewers to listen to the approximately one-minute clip.

Latinopoulou directed her remarks at von der Leyen and accused the European Commission president of pursuing policies that she said had damaged European workers, industries and cultural institutions.

“Mrs. von der Leyen, there isn’t more of a racist than you in Europe. You’ve proved it,” Latinopoulou said.

She specifically pointed to farmers and fishermen while arguing that European economic policies had left those industries struggling.

“Our farmers, our fishermen are on their knees,” Latinopoulou said.

Her criticism also extended to manufacturing and employment.

“You’re closing European factories and thousands of jobs are being lost,” she said.

Latinopoulou then attacked what she described as the social and cultural priorities of EU leadership.

“You are ramming the woke agenda down our throat, the Islamization of Europe, but you gave us paper straws, tethered caps, and gay pride,” Latinopoulou said.

“You’ve destroyed things, Mrs. von der Leyen.”

After the clip ended, Bongino reacted enthusiastically and said Latinopoulou’s comments represented something larger than a single speech in the European Parliament.

“Look, can you zoom in? The goosebumps? Can you see that at all?” Bongino said.

He characterized the speech as part of what he sees as a broader rejection of liberal policies around the world.

“Folks, it’s Friday, smile. The rebellion against liberal insanity,” Bongino said.

“People are rebelling all over the globe against this crap.”

Bongino specifically pointed to immigration and policies involving biological sex as areas where he believes voters and citizens are pushing back.

“They don’t want open borders. They don’t want men in the women’s room,” Bongino said.

He then argued that people increasingly want governments and political leaders to focus on their own countries and national identities.

“You know what they want? She’s Greek. They want to Greek celebrate,” Bongino said.

“Like, just celebrate your country and move on.”

Bongino’s response framed Latinopoulou’s speech as evidence of a wider political shift against policies he associates with DEI, open borders and progressive social agendas.

For Bongino, the significance was not simply that one European politician had criticized von der Leyen.

He argued that the reaction reflected a growing demand for national sovereignty, tighter borders and greater emphasis on traditional national identity.
