Bill Burr Says Fixing America Would Take ‘A F**king Bloodbath’ [WATCH]

Bill Burr delivered a grim assessment of societal problems in the United States during a recent podcast appearance, claiming meaningful change would require “a f**king bloodbath.”

The actor and comedian then compared his imagined upheaval to Braveheart, with a distinctly modern wardrobe.

Burr began by arguing that the country is moving toward oppression and away from freedom.

“People don’t want to live in an oppressive, not free society, which is what we’re going towards,” he said.

The Old Dads star focused much of his argument on surveillance, questioning why ordinary people are being watched so closely.

“Just the amount of surveillance that they have on you and I, like, we’re not John Gotti — why are you watching?” Burr asked.

He claimed that the level of monitoring is not driven by the actions of ordinary people.

Instead, Burr suggested it reflects the conduct and future plans of those carrying out the surveillance.

“They have this level of surveillance on us, not because of what we’re doing, or anybody watching, it’s because of what they’re doing, and what they’re about to do. And they know the reaction that’s going to happen,” Burr said.

Burr then turned to the prospect of revolution, claiming that authorities have never possessed an army large enough to prevent one.

At the same time, he argued that extensive knowledge of people’s conversations and locations could allow authorities to contain resistance.

“And they’ve never had an army big enough to stop a revolution,” Burr said.

“But if you know what everybody’s talking about, where they are at all times, you can just put out all these little fires.”

The King of Staten Island actor illustrated his concern by describing an ordinary trip to a convenience store.

He questioned why anyone would need information about such a routine purchase.

“You don’t have to be a genius to figure out, like, why the fuck do you need to know that I just went to 7-Eleven and got a Big Gulp?” Burr said.

The conversation then moved directly to what Burr believed would be necessary for actual change. When he was asked, “What do you think it’s going to take for an actual change to happen?” his response was immediate and bleak.

“I don’t know, it would have to be a bloodbath. They’re not going to just give up,” Burr replied.

He then repeated the prediction in even stronger language, saying, “It would be a fucking bloodbath.”

After making the declaration, Burr laughed and shifted into a comic comparison involving Braveheart and Lululemon.

“It would be like Braveheart, except everyone was wearing Lululemon shit when it was happening, if it would be going on now,” he quipped.

The remarks follow other comments from Burr involving violence against prominent corporate figures.

In late 2024, he said he loved how health insurance CEOs were fearing for their lives after the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Last month, Mangione pleaded guilty to two federal charges and admitted that he shot Thompson.

Burr’s latest comments combined his concerns about surveillance, oppression, and government power with a prediction of mass bloodshed.

His Braveheart comparison added a joke to the scenario, but his repeated use of “bloodbath” left no ambiguity about the violent scale of change he described.
