Bessent Declares Iran on Its Knees as Final Oil Lifeline to China Runs Dry [WATCH]

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent delivered a stark forecast for Tehran on Sunday, predicting that Iran will complete its remaining oil deliveries to China within two weeks.

Once those shipments are finished, he said, the regime will have nothing left to trade for the goods it needs, as reported by Red State.

China is described as a primary customer for Iranian oil, while the Iranian economy depends heavily on revenue from oil sales.

“They will have nothing to trade for anything, probably within the next two weeks. They are going to make their final deliveries of oil to China, and then they will have nothing,” Bessent said.

Bessent made the remarks during an appearance on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures with Larry Kudlow.

His assessment was blunt: Iran has been cut off from much of the world and is rapidly approaching the end of its remaining oil trade.

“They are isolated from the world. They are a pariah state. And, my job is to make sure that when they come with a deal, that they want to stick to it. They did not stick to the (Memorandum of Understanding). And, next time, if there is a deal, that’s at President Trump’s discretion, that they will stick to it. Because they are on their knees.”

The Treasury secretary framed the economic campaign as a way to ensure Iran honors any future agreement it might reach. Whether another deal is offered would remain at President Trump’s discretion, Bessent said.

The United States has largely cut off Iranian oil sales and blocked Iran’s access to the international banking community.
