If you trusted what the open-borders/diversity-is-our-strength crowd said, you would believe that anybody who said that Islamists are invading the West in order to take it over must be a white supremacist racist.
It has a certain ring of plausibility to people who grew up believing in the melting pot, as most of us did, and who rightly worry that nativism is an easy way to import hate into the political marketplace while wearing a mask.
The problem with that is that it is just factually true that wherever Muslims go in great numbers, their stated goal is to transform the society into one dominated by Muslims. And it’s not due to some secret, nefarious reason that nobody can understand; as with other groups, like the World Economic Forum, they are quite open and proud of their goals and plans.

Most religions have some version of an evangelical streak, and rightly so. If you believe that you are following the one true path, it is your duty (in most religions) to spread the word. There are exceptions, like Judaism, but the principle mostly holds.
What makes Islam particularly aggressive is that it is not just a religious tradition or set of beliefs; it is a totalitarian ideology that doesn’t allow for a separation of politics and religion, and that is based on the belief that civil law and religious duty are the same thing, and that its mission is to spread Islam to the entire world through all necessary means.

Islam has always spread through conquest and, ironically, colonialism. In many ways, it is the opposite of Judaism in that regard, despite the fact that Jews are accused of being the ultimate colonialists. Jews are almost uniquely particularist, with no impulse to spread the word and little interest in territorial expansion beyond their historical borders.

Islam is a universalist religion that has conquest built into its foundations, and the calls to conquest are quite out in the open because that is the mission upon which everything is built. Far from being the “religion of peace,” a Muslim is betraying his religious duty if he chooses liberal tolerance. Plenty do, or apparently do, although even there you have to wonder about the use of taqiyya as a means to fulfill that duty.
But assume that these individuals are sincere; they are not representative.

I have countless videos of imams and Muslims openly declaring (or discussing in Arabic) the project to take over the West. It is extremely attractive for any number of reasons; it fulfills their natural duty, and just happens to give them access to the most technologically advanced, educated, and powerful societies in the world.

I doubt that the open-borders crowd fully understands this because the concept is so alien to them. Muslim immigration seems to be a good thing because it can act as a cultural solvent, and they believe that any form of particularism is dangerous and nationalism is repulsive to them. Setting Muslims and Christians against each other seems a natural strategy to undermine both — divide and conquer, so to speak. Muslims will Westernize, and Westerners will become less particular.
