WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • The Bouquet Fire erupted Saturday afternoon in the Angeles National Forest east of Santa Clarita.
  • The wildfire exceeded 1,000 acres by Sunday morning and was 40% contained, according to CAL Fire.
  • Los Angeles County ordered people in the affected closed area to leave and placed nine emergency zones under evacuation warnings.
  • The fire broke out as triple digit temperatures gripped Los Angeles and winds began picking up Sunday.

Evacuations were underway Sunday after a massive wildfire erupted in Los Angeles during a blistering October heat wave. The emergency unfolded as weekend temperatures soared into triple digits and winds began kicking up on Sunday, as reported y The Gateway Pundit.

The fire brought a new round of urgent warnings to a region already facing punishing heat. With flames spreading and evacuation notices active, Los Angeles County told people in the affected area to leave rather than wait.

According to CAL Fire, the incident known as the “Bouquet Fire” broke out Saturday afternoon. The blaze started in the Angeles National Forest, east of Santa Clarita.

RAPID SPREAD 🔥: Evacuations are underway after a wildfire broke out Saturday evening, quickly growing to over 1,000 acres. CAL FIRE said the Bouquet Fire broke out in the Angeles National Forest around 3:30 p.m. #wildfires #California #SantaClarita #LosAngeles #foxweather https://t.co/ayjoPAOfd0

By Sunday morning, the wildfire had spread across more than 1,000 acres. The rapid expansion prompted evacuation activity and warnings across multiple designated areas in Los Angeles County.

County officials issued blunt instructions for the affected area as the fire continued burning. “This is a lawful order to leave now. The area is lawfully closed to public access,” Los Angeles County said.

The county also listed nine areas under evacuation warnings. Those areas were identified through official emergency zone codes rather than neighborhood names in the provided notice.

The listed warning areas were LAC-E016, LAC-E017, LAC-E019, LAC-E020, LAC-E021, LAC-E029, LAC-E030-A, LAC-E031-B, and LAC-E030-C. The warnings added to the sense of urgency surrounding the Sunday response.

CAL Fire reported that the blaze was 40% contained. That figure came as evacuations were underway and the fire had already exceeded 1,000 acres by Sunday morning.

The timing delivered an especially brutal combination for Los Angeles. Temperatures had climbed into triple digits during the weekend, while winds began picking up on Sunday as officials tracked the expanding wildfire.

The source did not provide additional containment figures beyond the 40% reported by CAL Fire. It also did not provide a later acreage total beyond the more than 1,000 acres recorded as of Sunday morning.

The evacuation order left little room for ambiguity. Los Angeles County described the affected area as lawfully closed to public access while directing people there to leave immediately.

Evacuation warnings, meanwhile, covered the nine specifically identified emergency zones. The combination of an active order and broader warnings showed the scope of official concern as the Bouquet Fire continued burning.

The wildfire also arrived while Los Angeles was still struggling with the aftermath of the January 2025 Palisades fire. According to the source, the city still has not recovered from that earlier disaster.

The source reported that only 28 properties have been rebuilt after more than 7,000 homes were destroyed. It blamed Democrat policies for the sluggish rebuilding process following the Palisades fire.

More than 80% of the homes that burned down still do not have permits to begin reconstruction, according to the source. That leaves the overwhelming majority of those properties without approval to even start the rebuilding process.

Against that unresolved backdrop, the Bouquet Fire created another serious emergency for the Los Angeles area. Triple digit heat, rising winds, more than 1,000 burned acres, and evacuation notices combined into another alarming Sunday for the region.

CAL Fire’s 40% containment figure offered the clearest available measure of the response by Sunday morning. At the same time, county officials maintained evacuation warnings for all nine listed zones and ordered the affected closed area evacuated.

The immediate message from authorities was unmistakable: leave the affected area now and stay out of the closure. As the Bouquet Fire burned east of Santa Clarita, officials continued treating the situation as an active evacuation emergency.
