A Chat With Scott Presler From Early Vote Action at the 2025 GAOS

The 2024 Presidential Election was monumental for many reasons. Anomalies from the 2020 election seemed to be somewhat absent. 2024 found areas that were called for Biden in 2020 to have been flipped. Pennsylvania was one such jurisdiction that flipped from blue to red. Efforts from groups like Early Vote Action have been cited to have aided in changing the tide in the Keystone State. Scott Presler, the man behind EVA chatted with us at the 2025 National Rifle Association Great American Outdoor Show about the 2024 election, efforts going forward, and how this affects our gun rights.

“Life is good,” is what Prelser had to say when greeted during our February 2, 2025 conversation. “I’m here with hunters, and I’m here with a whole bunch of Pennsylvania voters that we’re trying to get to continue voting in elections.”

Presler’s group, EVA, had a booth in a high-traffic, prominent spot at the show. The GAOS is the largest show of its kind and takes over the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex for nine days every year. EVA was positioned in the main hallway, so anyone heading from the main shooting sports hall or main entrance to other areas of the exposition center, they would be bound to run into Presler and his group.

“My organization is Early Vote Action. That’s EarlyVoteAction.com and we really came into Pennsylvania knowing that 2020 was decided by 80,000 votes,” Presler said when he was asked about his organization. “I went, okay, let’s look at some math of demographics that agree with us.” 

Presler continued by listing out some of the strategies he and his organization employed prior to the election:

There are 80,000 truckers. Well, truckers may not be here on election day. Let’s get them to vote early. Let’s get them a mail-in ballot. There are 90,000 Amish. The Amish get married on Tuesdays in November. Did you know that? Tuesdays in November. Let’s get them a mail-in ballot. There are 800,000 veterans. There are 930,000 hunters, knowing that 30% of Pennsylvania hunters are not registered to vote. And so my organization courts voters that agrees with us, gets them registered, gets them mobilized, and that’s how we were able to deliver Pennsylvania for Donald J. Trump.

There’s no question that a Donald J. Trump administration is going to be more friendly to the Second Amendment than what a Kamala Harris administration would have been. When asked about what his efforts mean for the Second Amendment Presler did not mince words.

“Well, I would argue [with] President Trump, we now have an administration that is going to be pro-constitution. Pro-Second Amendment,” Presler said. “And look at what happened…Nobody I think is really understanding the ramifications of Donald Trump winning. Daniel Penny was found not guilty by a Manhattan jury, a judge of his peers. I don’t believe that Daniel Penny would have been found not guilty had Kamala won. Us winning the popular vote gave permission for society to understand that freedom and the Constitution are on the rise.”

In an interview with our friends over at News2A.com, also at the GAOS, Presler was adamant that the reason the United States was not under complete lockdown during the pandemic was because of the Second Amendment.

“I believe the Second Amendment protects and provides for every other amendment,” Presler said to News2A. “The reason why America didn’t become Australia or the United Kingdom or Canada during COVID is because of the Second Amendment. And so that is an amendment that we must continue to vote on behalf of, that we must continue to utilize by purchasing firearms and learning how to use them in order to hunt and to protect ourselves.”

With the 2024 election in the rearview, Presler said it’s no time to slack off and that continued work is important. “We want to shore up Pennsylvania and take it off the table for Democrats,” Presler said about the current plan. “But we also want to focus on the New Jersey governorship and flip that from blue to red this year, Tuesday, November 4, 2025.”

Other areas that Presler and his group are focusing on are Virginia and a Wisconsin Supreme Court race.

As far as flipping New Jersey red, Presler said that it’s still a numbers game. He noted that the 2021 gubernatorial race was decided by 80,000 votes.

“What has happened since 2020 and since 2021?” Presler asked. “Well, a state that Joe Biden won by double digits, Kamala Harris narrowly only won that by five percentage points. This is a state that is trending to the right.”

Presler continued discussing the Garden State:

This is a state that — Passaic County, home to our beautiful Hispanic community, actually voted Republican for Donald Trump – so our strategy is to bring voter registration to all 21 counties, stop the bleeding in Essex and in Camden, stop the bleeding in Bergen, and then we need sky high turnout in places like Sussex County and, of course, Salem, Cape May, Atlantic, Monmouth…those are all areas that we need to really get Republicans to come out in big beautiful numbers.
