Comedian Rob Schneider might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but he’s had some memorable roles in some of my favorite movies. He’s a funny guy, and he’s also someone who hasn’t gone down the anti-gun rabbit hole like many in Hollywood.

I might not agree with all of his political stances, but the fact that he’s not toeing the line like most do is something I can deeply respect, particularly when it’s likely to hurt his career.

And I somehow suspect this post on X isn’t going to help, either.

I really like how his catch phrase from The Waterboy is on the magazine. That’s a nice touch, and it’s a gorgeous rifle.

And, it seems Schneider is a Second Amendment advocate:

On September 26, 2023, Idaho-based Nemo Arms posted an article about their CEO Bill King’s chance encounter with Schneider in an airport.

King said, “After a few minutes of conversation, we found out Rob is a huge 2A advocate and was interested in purchasing a few firearms.”

Schneider actually took part in building his own rifle with Nemo Arms’ rifle builder Mark Wood.

Now that’s pretty dope.

Schneider isn’t as outspoken about his Second Amendment support as, say, Ted Nugent is–hiya, Ted!–but few really are. The fact that he’s outspoken about his politics at all is impressive, and being a Second Amendment supporter is still worthy of even more respect for anyone who works inside the Hollywood bubble to any degree.

Now, as for how Schneider framed his purchase, as an “anti-Tesla Arson Protection Device.”

I get it.

Part of me wants to make the argument that protecting property isn’t treated the same way as protecting life is in the eyes of the court, so using lethal force to protect your car from vandalism will probably land you in trouble.

Especially if you live in the wrong state.

That said, anyone who takes tactical advice from a comedian is probably going to find a new way to screw up without that advice.

Schneider is a comedian, and he says things for laughs. That’s what this is. I’m sure someone out there has already gotten butthurt over this, but they shouldn’t.

Of course, I wouldn’t put that out there myself, simply because some people are idiots, but Schneider is free to do what he wants here. I think his honest defense could be that he’s probably best known for being a goofball on Saturday Night Live and playing an underwhelming male prostitute.

As for Schneider himself, I love seeing someone in the entertainment industry show that he supports the right to keep and bear arms, and that he will exercise it himself. He got a gorgeous gun, a fun magazine, and a post that’s probably making all the right heads explode.

I mean, what more can a man ask for?

Alright, I can ask for a whole lot more, and I’m more than sure Schneider can too, but you get the point.

Good on The Animal for not being afraid to share his new baby.
