Elon Musk may be the most famous billionaire in the world right now, and part of that is because of his control of X, formerly Twitter. His decision to end some of the ridiculous censorship on the platform rocked a lot of people who seem to think that things they disapprove of should never be heard by human ears, which has only amplified his fame.

And, frankly, I think they’ve pushed him farther to the political right.

Regardless, though, he’s generally supportive of people’s rights, including the right to keep and bear arms.

This came into play when a threat by a UK cop resurfaced recently.

Musk had…thoughts.

On Monday, tech billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to a re-surfaced video on social media on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. In reference to a warning issued last year by London’s Police chief about taking action against American citizens for their online remarks on UK riots, Elon Musk stated, “You have finger guns, we have real guns.” (sic)

The comments of Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley were originally made in August last year, following a wave of riots in the United Kingdom. Mark Rowley had issued a stern warning through Sky News, stating, “We will throw the full force of the law at people. And whether you’re in this country committing crimes on the streets or committing crimes from further afield online, we will come after you.” (sic)

He’s not wrong.

Rowley’s “warning” riled a lot of people up, myself included, in part because we fought a whole war back in the 1770s to make sure we didn’t have to take UK laws seriously in the first place. They can try to enforce their freedom-infringing laws on American soil, but it wouldn’t work out well for them because, unlike British subjects, we haven’t given up our guns.

Personally, I’m of the belief that the only reason the British government gets away with some of its crap is because no one can resist in any meaningful way. They keep turning up the heat on folks and there’s no way to fight back, especially since free speech isn’t even a thing in England anymore.

People there will take officials threatening to arrest them over words. We won’t.

Musk’s comments may have irked a lot of people in both the UK and the US, but frankly, I’m fine with that. They deserve to be irked.

We have guns for a reason, and Musk touched on why. We have them not for hunting or target shooting. We have them for tyrant hunting and dictator shooting. If the UK still wants to come over here and get rowdy with those of us who aren’t interested in playing along with their silly games, well, nothing ever said the tyrants and dictators had to be homegrown.

No one here has shot red coats in a few centuries, but if British cops seem to feel froggy about reliving the past, we’re always happy to oblige.

It won’t work out any better this time around for them, though.
