The state of New York introduced a lot of gun control when they knew how Bruen was, more or less, going to go for them. They know that they’d be a “shall issue” state whether they wanted to be or not. That wasn’t the start of their embrace of gun control by any stretch of the imagination, though. They’ve been anti-gun for a very long time.

And supporters of those measures will tell you that they make people safer, that things like universal background checks mean that people can’t sell guns illegally.

It’s adorable when they’re that stupid.

Yes, I used the word stupid. I used it because only a stupid person would think that a criminal wouldn’t break the law. You know, kind of like this guy is alleged to have done.

A Harlem man was indicted Tuesday for selling a slew of firearms — including rifles — to an undercover cop over the course of 2024, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the NYPD said.

According to Bragg and newly appointed Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, 48-year-old Joseph Moore sold eight guns, with what officials describe as an assault weapon, over a six-month period. The illegal transactions allegedly took place between April and October 2024 and were worth about $8,000.

…

Court documents show that the cop would meet Moore outside of his Central Harlem near West 135 Street and Broadway. On May 27, Moore allegedly sold two defaced firearms for approximately $2,000 before again, on October 2, selling the undercover officer four additional firearms for a total of over $3,700. Moore was arrested later that month on Oct. 28 during the execution of a search warrant at his home.

Now, this is just one person and we’re talking about eight guns, apparently, but that’s just eight guns to an undercover cop. Police found eight more inside his apartment. We don’t know how many other guns he sold illegally, nor do we know how he obtained them right now. It’s unlikely these were his first sales. He probably had to do something to get on the police’s radar in the first place, after all.

If he did, then how much did he do before cops caught wind of it? How many criminals did he arm?

Moreover, does anything actually think that this guy was the only illegal gun dealer in the Big Apple? If so, I’ve got some beachfront property in Nebraska to sell you.

Meanwhile, law-abiding citizens in New York are having to jump through hoops and get a license, then go through the federally mandated paperwork.

And Heaven forbid you want to carry one in the state.

But criminals? Criminals don’t care. They’ve never cared. I mean, they’re criminals. Not following the law is kind of a job requirement. Have you ever heard of a law-abiding criminal? Of course not. They don’t exist because it’s an oxymoron like “military intelligence” and “honorable politician.” They’re going to do whatever they want.

That includes black market gun deals.

It’s why laws aren’t going to stop them. It’s why we have enough laws regulating gun sales already and none of them are doing any good in keeping guns out of criminal hands.
