Kyle Rittenhouse did nothing wrong. He shot three people, killing two of them, after all three took actions that threatened his life. Most people prattle on about what happened that night in Kenosha and don’t understand it in the least. Hell, a lot of people think he shot black dudes instead of three white guys.
After his acquittal, he stayed around for a bit, trying to move on with his life to some degree, to go to college, and the left made that impossible for him. Every move he tried to make, they tried to block. They were pretty successful, too.
In time, he pulled back from the spotlight, got married, then returned. I haven’t agreed with all of his moves since then, but one thing is for sure. He’s living rent-free in some people’s heads.
When Kyle Rittenhouse returned to social media back in December, he promised there were big things to come.
A month later, those big things don’t seem to have materialized for him, yet. Instead, Rittenhouse who is famous for shooting three people, killing two, during a racial injustice protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin in 2020 before claiming self-defense and being acquitted of all charges, appears to be using his time on social media mostly posting slurs and teasing the idea of going to Minnesota as ICE is met with protestesters there.
His latest version of that came Tuesday as he shared a photo posing with a High Ground Defense M134HG Minigun on X.
“Thinking of taking this to Minneapolis,” Rittenhouse wrote. “Thoughts?
Folks were quick to respond, and it didn’t go well for him.
“@FBI lock him up,” one person replied.
“We get it your schtick is ‘I murdered a guy and got away with it, so let me joke about murdering more Americans,’” Skyler Shuler replied on X.
“You look dumber every year!” another wrote. “Congrats dude.”
“You take way too much joy in killing human beings — that’s not a compliment,” Colorado Mick wrote on X.
“You should repent and save your soul while you still can,” Jesse Brenneman suggested.
“Take it and keep it to yourself,” Michael Woods commented. “Bad karma to be agitating like this.”
First, it’s pretty clear it was a joke. Kyle’s probably at SHOT Show and popped off on X. Anyone who thinks this is either a serious suggestion or agitating a situation that has been agitated enough by anti-ICE entities is too stupid for words.
For someone to suggest he should be locked up for simply asking the question is even dumber than that.
Yeah, note that someone said the FBI should lock him up for this. Really?
Now, one person argued that Rittenhouse isn’t doing responsible gun owners any favors with his post, which may or may not be true, but the truth is that the people who are losing their minds over this aren’t going to look at gun folks like you and me any differently because of it. They think we’re terrible human beings anyway.
I don’t think it was the best thing he could have said, mind you. I think that Rittenhouse has a strong potential future ahead of him as a gun rights voice, but he should consider being able to talk about cool guns without referencing what happened in Kenosha or whatever the current unrest might be.
But he’s also young, and these same people have done everything they could to make his life a living hell, and he’s watching them try to do it all over again to various ICE agents, such as the one who has been reported as the agent who shot Renee Good.
Sure, he’s antagonizing them, but since they also think he should go to prison for literally nothing–even if he did as he joked, it’s not illegal for him to take such a weapon to Minneapolis just so long as he has legal possession of it–it’s pretty clear that there’s no world in which his mere existence wouldn’t antagonize them.
Rittenhouse still has some growing to do, to be sure, but that’s not going to happen because the people who have wanted him dead for five years, who still think he murdered people, are saying unkind things to him on X. The writer of this piece claimed it didn’t go well for Rittenhouse. I’m pretty sure he laughed at the burning stupid thrown his way.
