Second Amendment Foundation Adds Bryan Strawser to Board

The Second Amendment Foundation had their annual board meeting on September 26, 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bryan Strawser was elected to fill a vacancy as a board member.

The Second Amendment Foundation’s meeting is held in conjunction with the annual Gun Rights Policy Conference. The conference just wrapped up on September 28, and there’s a lot to report on. SAF’s Board of Trustees is comprised of nine members. Long-time board member Tom Gresham stepped down from his role, allowing room for a new advocate to participate in the board’s governance. Second Amendment advocate Bryan Strawser was nominated and duly elected unanimously to take a seat with the board of trustees.

“I have known and worked with Bryan for several years and can speak firsthand about his passion and commitment to defending, securing and restoring our Second Amendment rights,” Second Amendment Foundation Executive Director Adam Kraut said in a statement. “Bryan is on the front lines of gun rights advocacy in Minnesota and beyond, and he is a great addition to the SAF Board of Trustees. We look forward to working with him closely in the coming years.”

Strawser is a strong advocate who’s been fighting for the Second Amendment for years. He currently serves as the chairman of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus. Strawser brings with him to the board of trustees over 25 years of experience as a leader in business, resilience and crisis. In addition to his professional experience and role at the Caucus, Strawser is the chair of the Minnesota Gun Owners PAC and Minnesota Gun Owners Law Center.

“This opportunity to serve on the Second Amendment Foundation’s Board of Trustees is both an honor and a responsibility I take very seriously,” Strawser said in a statement. “The Foundation has been at the forefront of securing landmark victories for our right to keep and bear arms, from the courtroom to the statehouse, and I am committed to advancing that mission.

“My hope is that the experiences I bring from Minnesota’s fight for gun rights will help strengthen our nationwide efforts, building momentum for even greater wins in the defense of liberty. SAF is the gold standard in Second Amendment advocacy, and I am humbled to join such a distinguished team in restoring the full promise of our constitutional rights.”

Strawser is no stranger to Bearing Arms. He can be frequently found as a guest on Cam Edwards’ show, Bearing Arms’ Cam & Co. Most recently this week, Strawser discussed with Cam potential efforts from the governor and legislature to push new “gun control” measures in the North Star State.

Bearing Arms Editor-in-chief Edwards — who also serves on the board of sister organization CCRKBA with me — hailed the nomination and election of Strawser as a “great move.”

“Bryan’s a savvy, dedicated, and passionate defender of our Second Amendment rights, and he brings a wealth of experience in grassroots activism in a battleground state to the board,” Edwards said when asked for comment. “I think it’s a great move by SAF to bring him on as a board member, especially given the launch of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus’s Minnesota Gun Owners Law Center and the efforts to expand the group’s legal activism.”

Second Amendment Foundation founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottleib said having Strawser on the Board of Trustees “will be invaluable.” Gottleib observed that Strawser’s leadership and dedication to the Second Amendment make him “a great addition to the SAF board,” as the organization continues “efforts to ensure all Americans have the ability to exercise their right to keep and bear arms across the country.”

Also at GRPC, Strawser was named as a Second Amendment Foundation 2025 “Defender of Liberty.” And, his organization, Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus was named as a Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms 2025 “Affiliated Organization of the Year.”

We congratulate both the Second Amendment Foundation and Bryan Strawser on this news.

On a personal note, I look forward to working with Strawser across the table while I’m on the board with sister organization Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Having these dedicated groups of individuals working together at these organizations is a sign of our unified strength in defending the Second Amendment.
