2025 felt like the year of gun rights. We got some movement on the NFA, the repeal of Biden’s anti-gun executive orders, and the DOJ going after states and local governments that are stomping on our right to keep and bear arms. It was a good year for us, all things considered.
This year has started off in the wrong direction with some very troubling comments from the White House and other administration officials.
In Virginia, Gov. Abigail Spanberger and her fellow Democrats took control of both chambers of the legislature and the governor’s office and immediately got to work trying to pass extensive gun control laws.
The whole nation has been watching, and Texas Gun Rights has some tough words for everyone.
While some Republicans are floating idiotic statements about the Second Amendment “not applying” at protests — Democrats in Virginia are doing what they always do when they control the government.
They’re moving gun confiscation bills.
Not talking about it, but passing it.
A wave of radical gun control legislation is advancing through Virginia’s Democrat-controlled legislature, including sweeping restrictions on commonly owned firearms, magazine bans, expanded “gun-free zones,” and new penalties aimed squarely at law-abiding gun owners.
This is the Left’s agenda in plain sight. And it’s exactly what Texas must stop from ever taking root here.
This Is the Real Agenda When Democrats Control the Legislature and Governor’s Office
Gun owners in Virginia are getting a front-row seat to what happens when Democrats have full control.
They don’t “compromise.”
They don’t “moderate.”
They push bans, restrictions, and new crimes — all while claiming it’s about “safety.”
Bingo.
And if they do talk about compromise, let’s understand what they mean. It’s just that they’re willing to take a little less here and now, versus taking everything in one fell swoop.
That’s the extent of what they know about compromise.
While the Trump administration keeps sounding more and more like President Autopen’s bunch on guns, despite everything accomplished in 2025, Virginia Democrats are being consistent as hell. They’re coming after guns in the Old Dominion State, and they’re not backing down. They have to be stopped cold, because even if you get them to dial these measures down a bit here and now, they’ll be back next legislative cycle to take the rest.
They never stop. They’re never satisfied with what they can get here and now.
And with a nearly two-thirds majority in the House, there’s no chance of stopping anything there. The Senate has a slimmer margin, but even that isn’t necessarily going to be enough to stop the anti-gun rampage from happening.
All while we hear the most pro-gun administration in history talking about how you can’t carry a gun to a protest, despite plenty of people on the right doing so in the past without any of them having an issue with it.
What we need is the Trump administration to get its butt in gear and to knock this rhetoric off. Take a step back, stop demonizing the carrying of firearms in accordance with the law, and focus on where the real problems are and have always been.
