If you’re unfamiliar with J.D. Delay, he’s a reformed career criminal with 58 felonies on his rap sheet. He has a long and storied history of breaking the law, which is to be expected when you’re strung out on meth.
He’s gotten his life straightened out and walks the straight and narrow now, and started a YouTube channel where he talks about his prison experiences, among a lot of other things.
Recently, Delay was on the Unsubscribe Podcast, where the subject of guns came up, and that was where Delay said something that anti-gunners all over the country need to consider, which I talked about on my own YouTube channel.
Here’s the video:
Now, there’s nothing earth-shattering to you or me. We know criminals carry guns, and I’m not at all surprised to know a convicted felon, during his “active” career, favored gun control because it meant he didn’t have to worry about being shot by some armed citizen, but it’s interesting to hear someone lay it out from a first-person perspective.
More than that, since anti-gunners love stories so much, this is a hard one to ignore for them.
Don’t get me wrong, they will, but when they start trotting out people to give their first-person perspective on why guns are supposedly bad and we need gun control, we’ve got Delay’s testimony about why that will make the bad guys as happy as clams.
Especially since gun control doesn’t do jack to keep someone like Delay disarmed until the time he’s no longer a threat to public safety. Funny how that shakes out, isn’t it?
Now that he’s law-abiding, he’s disarmed, but when he didn’t care about the laws at all, he always had a gun. It’s almost like gun control doesn’t do anything to criminals.
Shocking, I know.
In all seriousness, Delay is one of those examples of why there needs to be a pathway back to one’s Second Amendment rights at a minimum. When someone reforms, they deserve to have that acknowledged. Delay isn’t a danger to anyone anymore.
But again, the criminals who are still engaging in crimes aren’t bothered in the least. They’re always going to have a gun.
And let’s be real. If Delay were to hypothetically decide, “Screw it. I’m back to crime,” he could get a gun easily enough. I don’t see that happening, but I bring it up solely to point out that the only thing that keeps someone like him truly disarmed is his desire to follow the law.
That’s a terrible crime prevention strategy, don’t you think?
Yet that is how gun control is sold to the American public.
Delay kind of shatters the illusion many have built up in their minds about what gun control does and how it works. He’s living proof that when people want to do bad things, a gun law isn’t going to stop them from doing it.
Now that he’s through with that part of his life, though, he can’t have one because of the laws they pushed and, most especially, his inner desire to comply with the law.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
