Why China’s Attacks on Second Amendment As ‘Human Rights Violations’ Rings Extra Hollow

For quite some time, China has been attacking so-called gun violence and the lack of gun control in the United States as a violation of people’s human rights. That’s rich coming from a country that has literal concentration camps and an ethnic cleansing program in existence, obviously, but it still gets brought up, and a bunch of useful idiots in this country will echo it at every opportunity.

The reality, though, is that China doesn’t see guns in this country as a bad thing. They like us being divided about things, and the truth is that more and more gun control may well serve their strategic interests. I don’t know if they ever think they’ll be up for invading the United States, but if they do, they’d probably rather that regular people can’t rise up and resist them.

And we know they don’t actually care all that much because, as their state-run media decries gun rights in the US, they’re also allowing this sort of thing to happen.

A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to federal prison after authorities said he was involved in a scheme to import firearm parts from China to New England.

Nicholas Kingsley, 42, of Agawam, Massachusetts, faced sentencing on Monday in federal court in Hartford where U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea handed down a 110-month prison term followed by three years of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.

Federal officials said Kingsley’s case stems from an investigation into Chinese companies that were suspected of importing firearms parts, including machinegun conversion devices and silencers, into the country. Members of Homeland Security Investigations flagged several packages containing the firearm parts that were addressed to Kingsley’s residence, officials said.

One of the packages, containing three silencers and four conversion devices, was intercepted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, officials said.

Now, we don’t know if there were other parts being shipped, but it seems likely that if there weren’t, it wasn’t because China has a moral problem with shipping them anywhere, or with ignoring state laws regarding so-called ghost gun parts.

Especially when there’s no state where auto-sears or suppressors can be legally shipped to an individual from a foreign country.

To be clear, China doesn’t have its financial hand in every company that exports products to the United States via ownership percentages. However, they do have a lot of control over what private companies do over there. Plus, with the Great Firewall of China, they have to be aware of what these companies are trying to sell to American consumers. They also have regulatory control the likes of which would never be tolerated here, so if they actually gave a damn about the violence on American streets, they could actually do something about it.

Especially as it’s not like these products are lawful to own in China itself.

No, I’ve long suspected that they know what they’re doing. They want divisiveness as it works in their favor, and a good way to do that is to try and fuel violent crime here. They can then decry it, say it’s our fault for tolerating gun rights at all, and pretend they’re not making it so the gun control we do have is easily evaded by criminals.

It’s a kind of warfare by trade, and since we’re so damn reliant on them for so many products, there’s little chance we’ll actually put a stop to these illicit imports without their help.

That’s something that’s going to be lacking.

Remember this the next time Chinese media runs a piece, even from an American, about how guns are bad. They don’t think that. They don’t think anything of the sort. If they did, they wouldn’t be letting these companies make products illegal in both China and the United States, only to export them here.

This is a serious problem, and I think way too many people are ignoring the long-term implications of this.
