Tech billionaire Elon Musk has renewed his criticism of the 158 House Democrats who voted against legislation to deport illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes.

Taking to his social media platform X on Saturday, Musk demanded that voters hold these lawmakers accountable, calling for them to be removed from office.

“There is no excuse. Please post the list of people who opposed this law and want to keep illegals who are convicted sex offenders in America,” Musk posted. “They all need to be voted out of office. Every one of them.”

The legislation, titled the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, passed the House in September with unanimous Republican support and backing from 51 Democrats.

The bill aims to deport illegal immigrants convicted of sex offenses, including rapists, pedophiles, and domestic abusers.

It also deems individuals admitting to or convicted of such crimes inadmissible to the United States.

The legislation now awaits further action in the Senate, where it has been referred to the Judiciary Committee.

Musk’s post followed comments from X show host Mario Nawfal, who reignited the debate over the vote. Nawfal criticized those who opposed the bill, saying, “Deporting violent offenders isn’t ‘fearmongering’—it’s basic public safety. Why would anyone vote to keep criminals who prey on women and children?”

The legislation was introduced by South Carolina Republican Nancy Mace, who highlighted its importance during debates. “If you vote against it, you’re sexist against women,” Mace told Fox Digital.

“We’re talking about illegals who are here who are committing domestic violence, rape, and murder on women and children—they’ve gotta go. They shouldn’t be allowed into our country.”

Conservative voices also amplified their criticism.

The popular account Libs of TikTok wrote, “158 Democrats just voted AGAINST deporting migrants for sex offenses. This is a slap in the face to every victim and their family members. Democrats hate you and your children.”

Democrats who opposed the legislation argued that it perpetuated fearmongering and xenophobia.

Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., characterized the bill as an attempt to scapegoat immigrants during the debate.

“Here we are again, debating another partisan bill that fear mongers about immigrants, instead of working together to fix the immigration system,” Jayapal said. “Scapegoating immigrants and attempting to weaponize the crime of domestic violence is appearing to be a time-honored tradition for Republicans.”

Notable Democrats voting against the bill included former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., and former California Rep. Adam Schiff, who now serves in the Senate.

These awful people all need to be voted out, either in the primaries or the general election. They sully the Capitol Building with their presence. https://t.co/6i9LqTefzv

Musk’s comments come as he takes on an increasingly prominent role in U.S. politics.

In December, Musk announced plans to fund moderate Democratic candidates in deep-blue districts to challenge entrenched lawmakers he believes no longer represent their constituents.

Additionally, Musk is set to co-chair the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with Vivek Ramaswamy in President-elect Donald Trump’s second administration.

The advisory committee will focus on reducing government spending and streamlining operations.

While the legislation has yet to clear the Senate, its passage in the House has reignited debates over immigration and public safety.

Critics of the Democrats’ opposition argue that protecting convicted criminals undermines the safety of American communities.

The renewed attention to the vote highlights the sharp divide between Republicans and Democrats on immigration policy as Trump prepares to take office.

For many conservatives, the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act serves as a litmus test for prioritizing the safety of citizens over partisan disagreements.

As Musk and others continue to call for accountability, the debate over the legislation and its broader implications on immigration policy is far from over.
