I have been banging on about the threat to free speech coming from European countries for a couple of years now. The censorship industrial complex, which until Trump included funding from and cooperation with the Biden administration, is perhaps the greatest threat to Western values that exists.
Whatever else you can say about the evil of Vlad the Mad Putin, who is a a genuine tyrant, he presents no threat to the actual freedom of American citizens. The European Union and Great Britain, however, openly threaten the extradition and arrest of American citizens for their social media posts all the time.
REMEMBER: After the Southport stabbings occurred, the head of the Met Police threatened to charge and extradite foreigners who “provoke” unrest in the UK under terrorism laws. This included Elon Musk and any other high profile targets who violated the country’s laws against hate… pic.twitter.com/GaRWJ5EavP

Remember when Thierry Breton threatened Elon Musk for holding a stream with Donald Trump during the election? He actually said that he would fine X and all Elon Musk’s companies for platforming Trump–the once and future president–if Trump said anything he deemed misinformation. It was so outrageous that he was forced to resign, although he is still a major political power in the EU and shows up all the time as a pundit.
That was a foreign power–an ally–interfering in our elections in a way that Vladimir Putin never could have. Not even close.
J.D. Vance has been terrific on this issue, and it has become a key point of dispute between the US, the UK, and other “allies.”
Good. I am serious when I argue that the US should pull out of NATO if the EU and our other allies don’t quit interfering with the rights of Americans. Rights guaranteed in our Constitution, which should be of primary importance to our government. I would rather see Europe fall–and they are well on their way to become non-Western countries, despite our decades of support for their security–that see our government submit to their demands about speech.
Starmer to Vance: “We’ve had free speech for a very long time in the UK, and it will last for a very long time… I’m proud of our history there.”

Jim Jordan and the House Judiciary Committee are subpoenaing Big Tech companies not to attack them for cooperating with these tyrannical censors, but to root out all the bad actors who are working day and night against Americans. It’s about time. We need to identify every one of them, put them on do not enter lists, and ensure that they never have influence over them again. I would rather sanction Europe than have our companies do what they are told.
I would even support some form of compensation for these companies for lost revenues, although I doubt that would be necessary. Apple has already pulled their iCloud support for the UK rather than submit to the demands for a back door into their encryption (which, by the way, would likely make Americans’ information readable to UK spies). Apple will be limiting services in the UK, to the detriment of their customers, because of these outrageous government regulations.
ADMIN POST.
Starmer to Trump: I’m “very proud” “we’ve had free speech in the United Kingdom for a very, very long time and it will last for a very, very long time”.

It’s an assault on our privacy, our ability to speak, and it should not stand. Starmer may think there is free speech in the UK, but it is only the Critical Theory version of “privacy” and “free speech.” Your information is private and your speech free only if the government likes what you say and do.
Reminder – JD Vance: “The leader, I forget exactly which official it was within the European Union, but sent Elon this threatening letter that basically said, we’re gonna arrest you if you platform Donald Trump, who, by the way, is the likely next president of The United States.”… pic.twitter.com/8B8isRA07L

I have been a supporter of NATO since I knew what it was. It protected the Western world from the USSR’s version of communism, which was an asssault on Western values. I didn’t support it because I like Europeans, which I do, but because there must be a “free world.”
Europe is no longer free. If it is not free–especially if it is attacking OUR freedom, it no longer deserves our support. Countries like Poland and the former communist European countries could be protected without Germany, the UK, France, or the tyrants around the world. Those EU countries are worthless militarily, but they demand that we defend them and submit to their whims.
Last night, the Committee issued subpoenas to eight major tech companies.
Foreign governments are putting pressure on them to censor American speech.
Once we receive these documents, we’ll know which foreign officials are pressuring tech companies to censor Americans.

I hate that things have gotten this bad, and they certainly would not have without the support of the left in America and the intelligence community here. The Biden administration fully supported and funded this assault on our freedoms, and if Trump cannot push back on it then there will be no free world.
This is all crucial to stopping foreign censorship before it’s too late.
The European Union, Brazil, and Australia have attempted to censor American citizens and companies. pic.twitter.com/vYPeSPI6D8

It is a genuine existential threat to America. That is not hyperbole. If all our data and the ability to speak freely are controlled by our or foreign governments then we are basically China.
I don’t want to be China. I don’t want to live in a society run on social credit.
But the foreign censors won’t stop.
Brazil, Europe, Australia, and others still want to censor Americans—and they think they can. pic.twitter.com/7mg8mAEbJa

Submitting to this tyranny would be the greatest betrayal of our founding values and, ironically, a rejection of the Scottish Enlightenment values upon which our entire society is built.
The Committee will continue to investigate how and to what extent foreign government officials have attempted to pressure companies to censor the American people.
Stay tuned.

Our Constitution would be rendered meaningless if the censors win.
Expose the rot.
