It’s so ridiculous that it lends credence to suspicion of whether CBS News blew out CEO Wendy McMahon yesterday, or whether she couldn’t jump off the sinking ship fast enough.
As resistance media wrestles with the first step of a 12-step program to restore lost credibility with the American people, admitting they have a problem, you’re seeing one extreme or the other. Some people, like Mark Halperin and Van Jones, know the jig is up, and that Democrats have to begin the long season of mea culpas before anyone will take what they have to say in the future seriously again.
Here’s Halperin today.
If your job title is “Chief Media Analyst,” you have a duty to investigate the biggest media scandal in American history – covering up Biden’s cognitive decline.

Alternatively, there are voices like Don Lemon running podcasts these days instead of lying to the American people and perpetrating the fraud that Joe Biden was sentient and running the administration the last four years.
Don Lemon is melting down over the coverage of Biden’s mental decline.
He’s very unstable. Someone should order a wellness check for the guy. pic.twitter.com/d8iHuLfLal

It’s funny how Lemon and House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries are so in sync when it comes to whether media should spend time on the biggest scandal in American history in a century. It’s almost as if they share an ideological worldview.
There does seem to be a common denominator undergirding most of media’s wishes that this whole affair, and the Biden regency, just go away and stay there. Kinda conflicts with what a lot of these same voices said just a few months ago said about the last administration. Remember this from Congressman James Clyburn?
James Clyburn says Americans don’t yet understand how consequential Biden’s term was and that history will vindicate him.

He was far from the only one. Jonathan Capehart picked up the “history will judge Biden extremely favorably” narrative, as did Bob Woodward and Georgetown’s Matt Glassman. That talk has all but vanished. Now, the left pretty much never wants to hear the name Joe Biden mentioned again. They’re trying to memory hole all four years and focus on how much they hate Donald Trump.
My friend and boss, Ed, wrote earlier about how fast media is trying to turn the page on Biden, and graciously noted that I “leapt” in response to this post by Bill Scher of the Washington Monthly.
It makes no difference that we Democrats, elected and media, perpetrated a fraud on the American people for four years. The important thing is to forgot all about that and believe us in the future when we lie to you about the next one. https://t.co/aT5Nd1kKPf

I’m actually shocked and a little outraged that Ed denied me my proper role of seizing and/or pouncing. I believe I did both, and was rhetorically under-represented by my good friend and colleague. Alas.
Joining the fray in glossing over the latest front in the Biden/media scandal, as the great David Burge once said a dozen years ago in what still is the greatest single tweet ever in the history of Twitter/X,
Journalism is about covering important stories. With a pillow, until they stop moving.

CBS News brought on their medical expert on the Early Show in order to get to the bottom of explaining why Joe Biden woke up Sunday morning and said, “Shazam, I guess I have end-stage cancer. Who knew?”
COVERUP: CBS News medical contributor and former Biden transition official claims White House doctors didn’t do PSA tests on the president to save money due to his advanced age. As a result, they missed the cancer. 🤣 pic.twitter.com/ysITZDgXbX

It’s not worth the risk, says Dr. Celine Gounder, as if passing on whether to conduct a blood test to ascertain whether there might be a problem is a cost-cutting move.
Just a quick check on a scientific calculator, one that can handle a whole lot of zeroes, I looked to see how much the national debt went up on Joe Biden’s watch, being the thrifty miser he is now.
$8.4 trillion. There are currently 347 million people living in the United States – legal, illegal, designated baby-makers, according to Hillary Clinton this week. That’s about $24,207 per person.
Compare that to a PSA test. Without insurance, it costs between $12.95 and at the most, $300. Joe Biden has insurance. Barack Obama and Biden guaranteed it. I seem to recall then-Vice-President Biden calling Obamacare a “big fucking deal” at the Obama signing ceremony he attended in 2010.
Let’s just assume for the sake of argument that Joe’s test is the Cadillac of PSA tests. It costs you and me, the taxpayers paying for the health care of the president of the United States, $300. What does that work out to per capita?
$.000000865 cents. I’ll tell you what. I can cover that. In fact, I’ll go full Elon Musk and cover the cost of one year’s test. The defense is beyond absurd.
What’s lost, of course, in this doctor’s wallpapering over why the Biden’s lied about the former President’s condition, and why media had zero reportorial curiosity over any claims made out of the last administration, is that she’s admitting that after 75, the quality of life outweighs the benefits of prevention and treatment of the disease, so why bother diagnosing. Which begs the question – why did we put the country through all of this for the last four years? Why did the media and Democratic Party steamroll anyone to challenge Biden’s re-election effort in the 2024 primaries until Biden himself exposed the coverup in his doomed debate with Trump? If Joe Biden, in the nuclear energy world, is a spent fuel rod, that’s not exactly the defense the left wants to mount, is it?
And for all of you “…but Trump” people, yes, the current president is 78. What do you want to wager that this president has had his PSA tested several times? Personally, I don’t look too favorably at modifying the standard of care to basically shuffle the elderly off to their reward sooner. That’s what Sarah Palin warned about with the Obamacare death panels. And if the President’s PSA were elevated, and he had advancing cancer that was not responding to treatment, how long do you think that secret would be kept in today’s media climate? You’d have to measure it in milliseconds.
Between Chuck Schumer yesterday blaming the Mexican training ship losing power and crashing into the Brooklyn Bridge as Donald Trump and DOGE’s fault, and today’s explanation that Biden’s cancer was due to cost-cutting decisions, it’s going to be a heck of a Top 10 Dumb Things on my Duane’s World podcast this Friday.
Speaking of cost-cutting measures, I’m confused now. If The Biden’s didn’t get the test because it wasn’t worth the effort, doesn’t that undercut the left’s angst at Elon Musk and his DOGE team’s efforts?
