Adam Schiff Critiques Biden, California and Democrats

I’ve never been a fan of Adam Schiff. One of the main reasons I don’t care for him is that he is the kind of partisan hack who will say anything to help himself and his party even as he pretends he’s some kind of straight-shooter giving people the facts. He was really the face of the collusion narrative back in 2017 and one of the main proponents of the Steele Dossier. The Washington Free Beacon put together this supercut of some of his many TV appearances on these topics.

Schiff also was the author of the memo which was intended as a rebuttal to the Nunes memo (published in Feb. 2018) on the FBI’s abuse of the FISA Court. An IG report later concluded that most the claims in the Nunes memo were correct and most of what Schiff had said to discount it was wrong.

Of course Schiff never apologized. Instead he went on TV again claiming that he would have objected to the FBI’s behavior too if only he’d known at the time. This is who Adam Schiff is deep down. He’s a deeply dishonest partisan who, even when he gets caught lying, pretends he was always doing his level best to tell the truth.

And that brings me to his appearance on Bill Maher’s show last night where Schiff for once seemed capable of admitting maybe all is not great in his own party. Let’s start with the highlight which is this story he told about being robbed in San Francisco.

Schiff says this happened two years ago but best I can tell it happened almost exactly one year ago. It made news last April because Schiff showed up at a fancy dinner party without a suit.

The congressman told the Chronicle he didn’t want to dwell on his nasty turn of luck.

“Yes, they took my bags,” he said calmly.

So he sat on the story about the cashier for a year I guess. Schiff also had some criticism of Joe Biden saying he set a bad precedent by issuing a bunch of preemptive pardons on his way out of the White House. Schiff has said this before (back in January) so this isn’t new. It’s also a much easier lift since Joe Biden is gone at this point and it doesn’t hurt the party to criticize him anymore.

As for refusing the pardon, Schiff tries to claim that it’s unclear if he can do that, but when Trump suggested the pardons should be “void” Schiff reacted pretty strongly. He’s standing behind that pardon he says shouldn’t have been issued yelling ‘come and get me!’

Sen. Adam B. Schiff on Monday rebuffed as a baseless threat a weekend broadside from President Trump in which Trump alleged that Schiff and others could still face investigation for actions covered by a slate of late pardons issued by President Biden.

“Your threats will not intimidate us,” the California Democrat wrote on X. “Or silence us.”

He was also critical of California’s over-regulation and homelessness problems, claiming both were connected by home construction.

He talked as if he was on top of these problems but what has he actually done? After a question about Hollywood’s fortunes Schiff returned to this again, admitting California’s regulations and high costs were driving people out of the state.

There it is: California Rep. Adam Schiff says he wants the federal government to sponsor Hollywood.

It’s not because Democrats care about good filmmaking or supporting the arts.

Bottom line, I’m still not a fan of Adam Schiff and never will be but this is probably the closest I’ve ever seen him come to something like party self-reflection. It won’t matter of course. He’s just saying what he thinks Bill Maher and his audience want to hear. But in the end nothing will change and he’ll return to attacking President Trump as the source of all evil by Monday if he’s not there already.
