Amazon is donating $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported Thursday.
The big tech company is preparing its seven-figure donation, the outlet reported, as Amazon’s executive chairman, Jeff Bezos, is expected to visit Trump at Mar-a-Lago in mid-December.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is also donating $1 million, as reported by the WSJ a day prior to Amazon’s donation. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg visited Trump’s private club in Florida in late November.
Bezos and Amazon decided to help fund Trump’s inauguration earlier in the week, the outlet reported. Bezos communicated with Trump’s transition team and a person close to Bezos said he “is donating through Amazon,” according to the WSJ.
Amazon will also stream Trump’s inauguration through its Prime Video streaming platform.
Amazon’s donation to the Republican president’s second inauguration is more than 17 times what the company gave in 2017 at $58,000. Other big tech companies donated more. (RELATED: Amazon Addresses ‘Error’ After Alexa Promotes Kamala Harris Over Trump)
