A video posted Friday to Instagram has gone viral after showing a group of women confronting federal immigration authorities during an arrest operation in the parking lot of a Home Depot in Encinitas, a coastal city in southern California.
The video documents the moment when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and other federal officers were taking two individuals into custody on suspicion of being in the country illegally.
The video captures the women aggressively confronting the agents, demanding explanations, and attempting to intervene during the arrest.

The caption on the video states: “I was driving home from Trader Joe’s this morning after I dropped my son off at summer camp and saw ICE tying these people up at Home Depot. I watched as these two people were disappeared into unmarked vehicles, with one of the ICE vehicles trying to back into me when I wasn’t looking.”
The video shows three women, including the user who posted it, yelling at agents and questioning their authority.
They repeatedly demanded to see warrants, called the arrest a “kidnapping,” criticized the agents for wearing masks, and verbally berated them for their role in enforcing immigration law.
One of the women was seen attempting to get the phone number of one of the detainees to notify his family, and appeared frustrated when agents continued with the arrest without responding to her.

In her commentary, the user claimed that another woman’s phone was slapped away when she tried to obtain contact information from one of the detainees.
“An ICE agent tried to slap her phone down when she tried to get a phone number to call this man’s family. They wouldn’t let her. Instead, they whisked him away and accused her of obstructing justice,” she wrote.
She concluded her post by writing, “This man won’t return home to his family tonight, and his family will probably never know what happened to him. This is the America we’re living in. This is our little beach town of Encinitas.”
The video has drawn attention online, with many users weighing in on both sides of the incident.
