Details about Jahn’s background began to surface in the hours following the shooting.

According to public records and interviews, he came from a family that has been openly supportive of left-leaning political causes.

Reports noted that his sister had publicly backed Beto O’Rourke, while his mother had advocated for stricter gun control measures.

Jahn’s brother, however, told NBC News that he was surprised by the incident and downplayed his sibling’s views on federal immigration enforcement.

“I didn’t think he was politically interested,” Noah Jahn said.

“He wasn’t interested in politics on either side as far as I knew. He didn’t have strong feelings about ICE as far as I knew.”

Federal investigators recovered evidence linking Jahn to anti-ICE sentiment, including markings on the ammunition he used.
