The so-called “King of Instagram” Dan Bilzerian has filed to run against a Republican incumbent for a U.S. House of Representatives seat in Florida.
The internet celebrity first announced his intent to run at the beginning of April via text message, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal. Known for sharing hot takes or posting shirtless photos with scantily clad women on a yacht to his over 29 million Instagram followers, he officially filed his statement of candidacy Tuesday, according to a Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing. Bilzerian will be running as a Republican in Florida House District 6 against Republican Rep. Randy Fine, who won his seat during a special election last April to fill the seat left vacant by former Republican Rep. and current U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz, the document showed.
On April 5, Bilzerian attacked Fine’s loyalty to the U.S. in response to the congressman’s support of President Donald Trump’s Easter message. Trump said the “crazy bastards” in the Iranian regime would open the Strait of Hormuz or they’d be “living in hell.”
“Hey look it’s jew first, Israel second and America last randy fine,” Bilzerian said. Fine’s listed pronouns on X read, “Hebrew/Hammer.”
Bilzerian claimed the Talmud teaches that non-Jews are subhuman and added that he doesn’t think “Judaism and Christianity go hand-in-hand,” but that people have “been programmed” to believe such during a 2024 interview with Piers Morgan.
He also alleged that the Israelis are “perpetuating the big acts of terrorism,” not Muslims. A clip from the interview is still set as his pinned post on X as of publication.
Bilzerian also previously stated that “Hamas are the good guys fighting the Israeli terrorists.” He has claimed Trump’s a “pedophile rapist” and called for his impeachment.
When asked about Bilzerian’s candidacy, a campaign spokesman for Fine told the Daily Caller that the congressman “will never back down in the face of any effort to impeach President Trump and obstruct the will of the American people.”
The campaign spokesman told the Caller Fine was the only candidate to have been endorsed by Trump three times over the last two years. Fine has supported the “America First Agenda” on closing the border, deporting illegal immigrants, passing the Save America Act for election reform and securing tax refunds, according to the spokesman.
Bilzerian’s address is listed as being in Las Vegas, Nevada, the FEC filing shows. A U.S. representative must be a resident of the state when elected into the office, according to the Florida Department of State website.
Bilzerian’s team did not respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.
