Song is one of at least 14 individuals charged in connection with the July 4th attack, in which federal officers were ambushed near the ICE detention center.
According to authorities, the officers had been lured into the area where they were fired upon by a group of heavily armed individuals dressed in black.

Authorities launched a multi-agency search operation, and the FBI offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to his capture.

Song was ultimately located and arrested without incident in Dallas.
Song now faces multiple felony charges including aggravated assault, attempted murder, aiding in the commission of terrorism, and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Authorities also allege that Song purchased four of the firearms used during the shooting.
According to law enforcement officials, Song received assistance from individuals who helped him evade capture in the days following the attack.
Two of those alleged accomplices, John Phillip Thomas and Lynette Read Sharp, have been named by authorities.
In interviews with investigators, Thomas reportedly admitted to transporting Song between residences in the area after the shooting.
Song’s name has appeared in previous legal proceedings. In 2023, he was named as a defendant in a lawsuit related to an alleged assault outside a “family-friendly” drag show.
Song, along with three others—Samuel Fowlkes, Christopher Guillott, and Meghan Grant—were affiliated with the Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club and were arrested in connection with an altercation that reportedly targeted protesters at the event.
Federal authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests as the investigation continues.
The case is being handled jointly by the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and local law enforcement agencies.
Officials said the organized nature of the attack and the deliberate targeting of law enforcement officers underscore the seriousness of the case.
Song is currently being held pending federal arraignment. No trial date has been set at this time.
The FBI has asked that anyone with additional information regarding the July 4th shooting or those involved contact their Dallas field office.
