Antisemites Claiming Bondi Beach Attack Was ‘False Flag’

Well, that happened almost immediately. The Groypers, the Islamists, and the ‘Free Palestine’ crowd joined forces overnight to start spreading the “news” that the vicious Islamist terrorist attack in Bondi Beach, Australia, was a carefully plotted Mossad false flag attack. 

What? 

At the same time that Islamists celebrated around the world and pro-Palestine protesters began crashing memorials, their advocates online pointed fingers at Israel and spoke darkly of Mossad training spies to pretend to be Muslims and giving them weapons training.

I would say “you can’t make this up,” but exactly the opposite is true. They are making this up.

Because, of course, Islam is the “Religion of Peace” and Muslims who take to the streets nearly every day shouting “Globalize the Intifada” would never commit violent acts that result in dead Jews.

If there is one consistent strain in the antisemitic hate that these people spew, it is that all things that people disapprove of are done by Israel. All those chants of “Kill the Jews” are meant metaphorically, and only shouted because Jews all deserve to die anyway.

The messaging doesn’t need to be consistent because appealing to people based on reason is totally unnecessary. If you can tap into people’s raw hatred, it really doesn’t matter what you say. Spewing rage is enough to stoke anger.

There will always be nutcases who gravitate to the wildest conspiracy theories because they need a unifying explanation for all the trouble in the world, so when I saw a few nutters speculating about the motives behind the attack, I shrugged and moved on. But of course, what I assumed was a few randos has turned into a flood that includes some pretty big accounts all pushing the same narrative.

Which seems more likely—Islamists from Pakistan, one of whom was on the Australian intelligence’s radar as an ISIS sympathizer—attacking a Hanukkah celebration, or the Mossad plotting a false flag operation in Australia?

Fergie Chambers, heir to the Cox fortune, is claiming the Sydney Hanukkah massacre is a “false flag.” i.e. Israel did it.

Palestinians have been committing terrorist acts on Jews for decades, but that doesn’t matter in the least because all those hijackings in the 1960s, the suicide bombings, the Intifada itself, and the millions of protesters in the streets couldn’t possibly be related to what happened in Australia.

One of the pieces of “evidence” to “prove” that the attack was a Mossad operation is that the name of one of the shooters—the first whose identity was revealed—was searched for on Google before the attack. Aside from this being idiotic—the Mossad, which spent over a year plotting the pager attack, wouldn’t make that mistake on the eve of an attack they planned, and why would they need to Google the name in the first place?—the only evidence turns out to be that Israel and Australia are in different time zones.

The ultimate irony is that all these claims denying that the violence stems from vicious antisemitism are being put out there to promote vicious antisemitism and to create even more violence against Jews, which they will also blame on Jews.

Antisemitism is being normalized, and I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised. In turbulent times, it is always easy to place blame on some identifiable group and blame them for everything, regardless of how implausible. The Jews have always been a favorite target in the West and now the Middle East. 

These people’s minds are broken.
