Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown was involved in a violent altercation at a boxing event in Miami on Friday night, with footage circulating online showing the 36-year-old appearing to draw a firearm as shots were heard at the scene.

Brown was attending a fight night hosted by online influencer Adin Ross at the Brand Risk Warehouse in Miami when the incident occurred.

Multiple videos posted to social media show Brown engaging in a physical confrontation with several individuals outside the venue.

In one widely viewed clip, Brown is seen grappling with several men before being pulled to the ground by what was later identified as a security team member attempting to protect him.

Subsequent video shows Brown re-emerging from behind a car holding what appears to be a firearm.

Moments later, gunshots are heard as bystanders run from the scene.

The footage, which includes explicit language, sparked widespread reactions online.

Another video posted shortly after shows Brown being led away by police with his arms behind his back.

Despite the imagery, Brown later stated publicly that he had not been arrested.

“Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED,” Brown wrote on social media.

He claimed he had been targeted in the altercation.

“Regarding the boxing event that happened last night. I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me,” he wrote.

“Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me.”

He also stated he intends to pursue legal action against the individuals involved in the fight.

“I will be talking to my legal council and attorneys on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me. I will keep you all posted step-by-step on the process. Thank you for the support and love,” Brown added.

Brown briefly appeared shirtless on Adin Ross’ social media stream following the incident.

During the livestream, he claimed to have little memory of the events.

“I blacked out… I don’t know what happened,” Brown said.

He also referenced suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a condition that has been linked to repeated head trauma in athletes. “I have CTE,” he added.

In a later portion of the stream, Brown described his interaction with police at the scene.

“They tried to take me to the movies,” he said.

“The cop was gripping me up… I’m like: ‘I didn’t do nothing bro…’”

As of Saturday, Miami-Dade Police have not released a public statement regarding the incident.

Brown, a former Pro Bowl wide receiver with a career spanning teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has made headlines in recent years for multiple off-the-field controversies.

In addition to various public outbursts and legal troubles, Brown appeared at a campaign event for President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election and has continued to use social media to comment on politics and pop culture figures.
