Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) made an embarrassing slip of the tongue during a town hall event in Colorado on Friday.
While addressing the audience, Ocasio-Cortez demanded that the Democratic Party fight harder against President Trump and his “America First” agenda.
However, in her impassioned plea, she accidentally declared, “We need a Democratic Party that farts… fight harder for us.” The slip-up left some in the crowd puzzled, but she quickly moved on with her speech.

Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’
Ocasio-Cortez was speaking out against the Democratic Party establishment, particularly Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, after Senate Democrats voted in favor of a funding bill that will keep the government running until the end of September.

After the bill passed, Ocasio-Cortez expressed her frustration, calling it a “deep sense of outrage and betrayal” that Senate Democrats would agree to such a measure.
“The Democratic leadership has completely failed us,” she said. “Just to see Senate Democrats even consider acquiescing to Elon Musk—I think it is a huge slap in the face.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s comments came as part of a broader rant against the Democratic establishment, which she believes has caved to corporate interests, including Musk.
This is a common theme for Ocasio-Cortez, who has been outspoken about the influence of wealthy individuals and corporations on American politics.
The event was part of Bernie Sanders’ “Fight Oligarchy” tour, where Sanders and other left-wing lawmakers criticized corporate elites and their influence over the political system.
The tour aims to rally support for a progressive agenda, focusing on issues such as wealth inequality and the influence of billionaires like Musk.
Sanders has called for more aggressive action to counter the power of oligarchs and corporate interests in the U.S.
The “Fight Oligarchy” tour website outlines the purpose of the tour: “Over the course of the next few weeks, I’ll be hitting the road to have real discussions across America on how we move forward to take on the Oligarchs and corporate interests who have so much power and influence in this country.”
Earlier this week, as reported by The Gateway Pundit, Sanders’ team sent out an email advising all those attending the events to wear masks and stay home if they were feeling unwell.
The email stated, “Masks are advised for all attendees of this event” and added that anyone experiencing a fever or symptoms of COVID-19 should refrain from attending.

Additionally, the event organizers warned attendees that bags, signs, and firearms would not be permitted in the venue, emphasizing the security measures in place.
While Ocasio-Cortez’s slip-up stole some of the attention at the event, the larger focus remained on the Democrats’ strategy regarding President Trump’s policies, the influence of corporate power, and the push for progressive change.
Despite the awkward moment, Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders’ continued criticism of the Democratic establishment signals their ongoing efforts to move the party further to the left, especially as they challenge the influence of figures like Elon Musk.
