Are They Doing Enough? [WATCH]

Conservative commentators Carl Higbie and Mike Davis discussed President Donald Trump’s legislative record, Republican accomplishments in Congress, and ongoing debates over accountability and enforcement within the Justice Department during a recent exchange, showcasing both optimism and frustration among conservative voters.

The conversation focused on what Davis described as sweeping legislative achievements under President Trump, beginning with the passage of a major bill that codified much of Trump’s agenda.

“I would say this, if you look at just Congress passing and President Trump signing the one big, beautiful bill that codified 75% of President Trump’s campaign promises, including massive tax relief for working families, no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security,” Davis said.

He added, “We put huge investments into our border security. You’re seeing President Trump end the invasion of our country and actually sent two and a half million illegals backing, and that’s going to grow exponentially in 2026 you’ve modernized the military.”

Davis said those outcomes should not be dismissed, arguing Republicans have delivered tangible results.

“I’m not so down on what the Republicans have accomplished over the last year, and they’re just getting started,” he said.

Higbie agreed that the legislation delivered on key promises but raised concerns about unfinished priorities.

“Yeah, Mike, there’s no doubt. Like the big, beautiful bill, while it did spend a lot, which didn’t make me thrilled. It did do a lot of the things he promised,” Higbie said.

“And I’m, look, I’m still Maga all the way. I just have a couple gripes with things like Congress, like they promised voter ID, they promised, like, national reciprocity for handguns, for handgun carry, passed the House and the Senate never took it up.”

Higbie questioned why those measures stalled.

“Like, why aren’t they doing like, these, Mike, these are layups that would help the midterms bigly,” he said.

Davis responded by pointing to the Senate as a structural obstacle.

“I would say that the Senate is the swamp of the swamp, and so if you want to get anything done in the Senate, you have to really bulldoze your way through the Senate,” he said.

Still, Davis maintained Republicans have delivered historic results.

“I think they’ve done monumental things for the American people. Just securing the border alone is is a huge accomplishment.”

The discussion then turned to the Justice Department and Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Davis defended Bondi’s record, citing actions he said were already underway.

“I think Attorney General Pam Bondi is doing a remarkable job,” Davis said.

“She’s won monumental wins for the presidency and at the Supreme Court, a long string of victories, something Republicans have not accomplished in almost 90 years.”

Davis said Bondi has pursued internal reforms and investigations. “She’s throwing criminals in prison,” he said, adding that scrutiny of alleged lawfare would soon intensify.

“You’re going to see a grand jury opens at Fort Pierce Florida in January, and justice is definitely coming.”

Higbie expressed skepticism, saying patience among supporters is wearing thin.

“I was so pro Pam Bondi for like, eight months, and I, quite frankly, I lost my patience with her,” Higbie said.

“I wanted some prosecutions. And in a year, man, and the one person they did get a grand jury to indict, they ended up screwing up the process.”

Higbie said he remains open to changing his view if promised actions materialize.

“If Pam did this thing, if this grand jury, you say, is coming in January, if they start getting this ball moving like I will full swing, fall back in behind her,” he said.

Davis pushed back, describing Bondi as aggressive and effective. “She is bold. He is fearless,” Davis said.

“She’s fired people within the Justice Department. She’s fired people within the FBI. She’s opening up these probes. She’s actually bringing prosecutions that prior AGS would not bring.”

The conversation also touched on government spending and corruption, including scrutiny of Florida Congresswoman Sheila McCormack.

Higbie referenced allegations involving FEMA funds. “She’s the one who was accused of stealing all that money from FEMA. She edited out $109,000 diamond ring for her,” Higbie said.

Davis said such cases reflect broader systemic issues. “Our our government, is getting fleeced,” he said, pointing to large-scale fraud uncovered across agencies. Davis credited investigative efforts by federal agencies and independent journalists, saying accountability is coming.

Higbie closed by reiterating cautious hope. “I hope you’re right, man,” he said. “Mike, appreciate it.”
