Arizona Democrats Cry Wolf and Let Loose the Dogs of Boor

I’m starting to feel like a psychic as opposed to a psycho.

No sooner do I get my VIP post up about Dems telling Dems how to win again – a surefire stra-tee-gery always develops when bubble people chirp at each other – then Democrats in Arizona take Winning Suggestion Number Four to heart.

Arizona Democrats were primed and ready to place themselves firmly on the 20% ‘spectacle’ side of yet another 80/20 issue.

Tom Homan, President Trump’s no-nonsense border czar, had been invited to speak to the Arizona legislature.

He was there yesterday to give the state’s elected representatives an update on the administration’s efforts to get the border closed, repatriate illegals caught crossing, and the ongoing campaign to go after and deport criminal aliens across the country.

President Donald Trump’s “border czar,” Tom Homan, told the Arizona Legislature on Tuesday that his administration is successfully cracking down on the border.

Homan joined lawmakers in Phoenix to talk about his zero-tolerance policy for undocumented immigrants and his efforts to enforce mass deportations.

So far, Homan said he’s made great progress, but he’s not satisfied yet.

“It’s not OK being in this country illegally, and people hate on me for that,” Homan said. “If you’re in this country illegally, you should be looking over your shoulder. It’s not OK to enter this country illegally. It’s a crime.”

…The month of March recorded the lowest number of illegal alien crossings at the southern border in nearly six decades, showing just how effective President @realDonaldTrump and Border Czar Homan have been in protecting our citizens from criminals. We are grateful for all their hard work to protect our country.

However, as soon as Homan began to speak, Democrat legislators reacted in what’s becoming a habit for them.

They held up little scribbled signs and paraded out.

So boorish.

Asked why they would do such a thing, the answer boiled down to Homan was mean.

…Democrats walked out of the speech just after it started, holding signs with the names of people impacted. They said they’re protesting the Trump administration’s alleged violations of due process for immigrants.

“They are violating due process in so many situations,” Senate Minority Leader Priya Sundareshan (D-Tucson) said. “To revoke student visas, to disappear people without providing them the opportunity for due process to prove that they were not a member of the gang.”

And then they held a little pro-illegal immigrant rally outside the statehouse for good measure. 

This way, they make sure everyone knows exactly where the Democratic Party of Arizona stands.

YAY, ILLEGALS!

For his part, Homan was as cool as a cucumber at the tantrum and afterward said he was pretty tickled they were torqued.

Didn’t that just burn their little blue butts something fierce.

It also has to be causing some heartburn that the AZ Republicans are busy advancing a bill that will compel local jails and prisons to hold individuals scheduled for release if they receive an ICE request to do so.

…There are no sanctuary cities in Arizona, and there won’t be anytime soon. A 2010 law banned municipalities from limiting the enforcement of federal immigration laws in any way.

Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen (R-Gilbert) touted the Arizona ICE Act as he welcomed Homan. Petersen is sponsoring SB 1164, which advanced in the House of Representatives this week.

The bill would require state and local prisons to hold people who could otherwise be released if requested to by ICE. It would also strengthen requirements for Arizona to fall in line and assist with federal immigration policies in general.

There are citizens in AZ who are pretty happy with the way things are turning out in the short time that Trump has been in office and Homan’s had border duty.

Trump won farmers and ranchers overwhelmingly in Arizona. Close to 70% of all principal producers in the state voted for him last year.

But the #mathz has never been a Democrat strongpoint, even something as simple as an ‘80/20 = what side should I be on?’ equation.
