Former President Barack Obama steps into the limelight every few months to humiliate himself before the nation.
Obama revealed he had been “digging” himself “out of a hole” with his wife after two terms in the White House, according to the Daily Mail. (RELATED: Does Michelle Obama Hate Her Husband?)
“Now I’m at about level ground,” Obama told the audience at The O2 Arena in London on Sept. 24.

I get the sense the Obamas might think this is a charming, down-to-earth admission. Like a Rodney Dangerfield bit where the husband is a dope and the wife is a two-timing tramp. Maybe it does seem charming to their democrat base. For everyone else, it’s just uncomfortable.
Obama confessed, back in April, that he’d incurred a “deep deficit” with the former first lady after leaving office.
“I have been trying to dig myself out of that hole by doing occasionally fun things.”
It’s difficult to tell if these are the words of a former president, or a clinical depressive. (RELATED: Obama Admits Critical ‘Mistake’ Made By Enlightened Lefties)
Then again, it’s probably tough to stay positive when your wife tells the public she “couldn’t stand” you for a decade of your marriage.
“People think I’m being catty by saying this — it’s like, there were 10 years where I couldn’t stand my husband,” Michelle Obama disclosed in December 2022. “And guess when it happened? When those kids were little.”

Well, fine, but why do we need to know any of that?
I’m reminded of Alec and Hilaria Baldwin, who periodically resurface to remind the public their marriage is strange and tense. But most marriages are strange when you’re looking in from the outside. And plenty are tense.
The Obamas’ fault is their urge to broadcast those qualities.
