Barron Trump’s Gen Z expertise may turn into a job.
“I’m hopeful President Trump will consider appointing his son Barron and maybe other young Americans to TikTok’s board to help ensure it remains an app young people want to keep using,” Jack Advent, President Donald Trump’s former TikTok producer, told the Daily Mail. Trump dubbed Advent “TikTok Jack” on the campaign trail.
TikTok remains available for download in the United States, as details emerge regarding changes to the app’s ownership and licensing.
Trump signed an executive order “saving TikTok from a ban while protecting America’s national security,” Sept. 25. The proposed framework agreement would see majority ownership of the app turned over to American investors. ByteDance, the Chinese company which developed TikTok, would hold less than 20% of the company’s stock.
Trump returned to TikTok with a video announcement, Monday.

“To all those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big,” Trump said. “And now you’re looking at me in the Oval Office.”
That is literally true, yes.
“President Trump delivered on his promise to save TikTok and the millions of Americans who run their businesses and get their unfiltered news through the app,” Advent told the Daily Mail in response to the deal.

As for Barron Trump’s role on TikTok’s board, one can only speculate.
The 19-year-old has dispensed good advice in the past. He encouraged his father to appear on Theo Von’s podcast during the 2024 election season. (RELATED: DHS Apparently Removes ‘Banger’ Deportation Video After Backlash From Famous Comedian)
“[Barron Trump] said, ‘Dad, you got to do an interview with a guy named Theo Von.’ I said, ‘Who the hell is Theo Von?’” Trump said in a speech.
“He said, ‘Dad, he’s such a big guy, you got to do an interview.’ So, he knew all the names. I didn’t know the names.”
Advent says he hopes Barron Trump may help keep young Americans on TikTok. The app doesn’t seem to be hurting for engagement. Short form video has proven so hypnotizing that most other social media apps — Facebook, Instagram, X — have incorporated it into their platforms.
Maybe a TikTok advised by the likes of Barron Trump would ease up on censorship. If only because it’s difficult to stand when someone replaces “kills” or “murders” with “unalives.”
