‘Beginning of a Large Accountability Roundup,’ More Indictments Coming: John Solomon [WATCH]

Journalist John Solomon appeared on Fox News to discuss the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey, saying the case may mark the beginning of broader accountability across multiple government agencies.

Solomon suggested that additional officials, including some within the FBI, could face charges in the coming weeks.

“I think other government officials are in danger of being indicted in the coming weeks, some in the FBI, some in other parts of the government. This is the beginning of a large accountability roundup in government,” Solomon said.

The indictment of Comey, announced by the Department of Justice, centers on allegations that he misled Congress during testimony in 2020.

According to Solomon, the charges stand out because they rely on evidence supplied by the FBI itself, under the leadership of current Director Kash Patel.

“And I think what’s really remarkable, most of my career I’ve spent uncovering FBI cover ups. FBI has a long history of misleading Congress. Comey falls into that. But the evidence against Comey tonight comes from the FBI and its new director, Kash Patel, who promised radical transparency, and he actually provides the key piece of evidence that leads to this indictment,” Solomon said.

He added that Patel’s approach signals a departure from the bureau’s previous handling of congressional oversight.

“If you’re a member of Congress and you’ve been tired of lying, being lied to by the FBI, tonight’s the first time the FBI actually did something about it. They turned in their own man tonight. I think that’s an extraordinary part of this story,” Solomon said.

The Justice Department’s decision to pursue charges against Comey represents the first time a former FBI director has faced a federal indictment.

Patel, who took over as FBI director, has pledged to restore credibility to the agency through what he has called “radical transparency.”

For Solomon, the indictment signals that the bureau may be taking steps to hold itself accountable.

He emphasized that the move could expand beyond Comey and result in consequences for others tied to past investigations.

The indictment of Comey and Solomon’s remarks come amid heightened scrutiny of the FBI’s actions during and after the 2016 election cycle.

Lawmakers in Congress have repeatedly raised concerns about the bureau’s conduct, particularly in relation to the Russia investigation.

As the case moves forward, Solomon said the significance lies not only in the charges against Comey but also in the FBI’s role in providing the evidence that led to them.

“They turned in their own man tonight,” Solomon said.

“I think that’s an extraordinary part of this story.”
