Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin provided an update on Wednesday regarding taxpayer money that was allegedly mismanaged under the Biden-Harris administration.
The revelation comes in response to undercover footage released by Project Veritas in December, which exposed an EPA advisor admitting to a rush to allocate billions in climate funding before President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
In the undercover video, Brent Efron, a special advisor at the EPA, was recorded discussing efforts to rapidly distribute climate change funds before the incoming Trump administration could intervene.
Dennis Quaid’s #1 Warning for Americans
“Now it’s how to get the money out as fast as possible before they [Trump administration] come in … It truly feels like we’re on the Titanic or throwing gold bars off the top edge,” Efron said.
Efron detailed how the EPA, under the Biden-Harris administration’s Inflation Reduction Act, which he called “Biden’s climate law,” had allocated over $100 billion toward climate-related initiatives.
He admitted that the agency rushed to distribute funds, including for projects originally intended for a Kamala Harris presidency.
“The thing that we haven’t funded yet are [sic] the local nonprofit program that was going to be an inter-Kamala Harris administration program… so now we’re getting it [funding] out as quick as possible. It’s like two billion at this point, we’ve got most of it out – like 90%,” Efron revealed.
He also acknowledged the EPA’s strategy of funneling funds through nonprofits to shield them from potential Republican budget cuts.
“We gave them [nonprofits, states, tribes] the money because… it was an insurance policy against Trump winning. Because they aren’t [a government agency], they’re safer from Republicans taking the money away,” he said.
Efron further hinted at his own career aspirations, noting, “Over the last year we’ve given out $50 billion dollars for climate things…so to go work for one of these places would be really cool.”

In response to these revelations, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said Wednesday evening that his team had uncovered significant mismanagement of taxpayer funds.
“Following this revelation, during my meetings with members of Congress, I made a very important commitment to them and to the American people,” Zeldin stated, pledging to conduct a full accounting of the funds.
He confirmed that approximately $20 billion had been “parked at an outside financial institution” under the Biden EPA, a move he described as unprecedented in the agency’s history.
“This scheme was the first of its kind in EPA history and it was purposely designed to obligate all of the money in a rush job with reduced oversight,” Zeldin said.
Zeldin further revealed that the $20 billion had been funneled to just eight entities, which were then responsible for distributing the funds with significantly less oversight.
“Just under $7 billion was sent to one entity called the Climate United Fund,” he stated.
Calling for immediate action, Zeldin demanded that the financial agreement with the bank be terminated and that the funds be returned to the EPA.
“The financial agent agreement with the bank needs to be instantly terminated and the bank must immediately return all the gold bars that the Biden administration tossed off the Titanic. EPA needs to assume responsibility of all these funds. We will review every penny that has gone out the door,” Zeldin said.

He also confirmed that the matter would be referred to the Inspector General’s office and that he would work with the Justice Department to investigate the handling of these funds.
With Zeldin’s revelations adding to ongoing scrutiny over federal spending on climate initiatives, the investigation into the Biden administration’s financial practices is expected to intensify in the coming weeks.
