Biden’s Hostage Rescue Claim Raises Eyebrows at White House Hanukkah Event [WATCH]
Joe Biden’s struggle with the truth was on full display Monday evening during the White House Hanukkah reception.
While attempting to deliver remarks about Israel and the tragic events of October 7, Biden managed to sprinkle in a bizarre claim that raised more eyebrows than applause.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, the president, known for his endless gaffes and questionable stories, boldly declared, “I’ve gotten over 100 hostages out [of Gaza].”

It didn’t take long for the statement to spark skepticism, as no credible reports exist to back up his assertion. In reality, hostage negotiations in Gaza have involved a coalition of international mediators, including Qatar and Egypt, with limited success—and certainly no single-handed miracle from Joe Biden.
Biden began his remarks by acknowledging the heavy hearts of Jewish families around the world following the horrific Hamas attacks on October 7.
“It’s the second Hanukkah since the horrors of October 7,” he said, referencing the brutal slaughter of over 1,000 innocent civilians, the kidnapping of hundreds, and the horrific acts of sexual violence that shook the world.

However, Biden’s attempt to empathize quickly fell apart with his inflated hostage claim. While trying to paint himself as a leader working tirelessly behind the scenes, the president said, “I will not stop so I get every single one of them home.”
His words ring hollow given the lack of evidence that his administration has secured such a victory.
As if that weren’t enough, Biden dug into his standard repertoire of personal anecdotes, trotting out a familiar story about taking his grandchildren to Nazi concentration camps in Europe.
“I wanted them to know that you couldn’t pretend it didn’t happen, and it should never happen again,” he said. While the sentiment isn’t controversial, many have heard these Bidenisms before—stories of questionable accuracy told for dramatic effect.

To wrap up his remarks, Biden declared, “You don’t have to be a Jew to be a Zionist. I’m a Zionist.” It was a recycled line aimed at shoring up his diminishing support among pro-Israel voters who have been frustrated by his administration’s mixed signals and tepid backing of Israel.
While Biden hoped to score points with a friendly audience, his “100 hostages” boast only raises questions about his grasp on the situation—or reality itself.
With the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict remaining a humanitarian and diplomatic crisis, the American people deserve honest leadership, not exaggerated claims from a man whose record of embellishment is as old as his political career.
