A video posted over the weekend by conservative social media personality Kaitlin Bennett has sparked intense reactions online after it featured a group of spring breakers in Clearwater Beach, Florida, struggling to answer basic questions from the U.S. citizenship test.
The footage, which quickly garnered over 150,000 views within its first 48 hours, showcased several college students in swimsuits failing to correctly answer questions on topics such as the 2nd Amendment, U.S. independence, and basic U.S. geography.
When asked to name a U.S. state that borders Canada, one student shockingly responded with “Asia,” while another claimed, “I didn’t even know Canada had a border.”

The video also captured a young woman, who revealed she was majoring in elementary education, mistakenly stating that the United States declared independence from Spain during the Revolutionary War.
Other wrong answers included a student confidently stating that the Civil War was fought between the “East and West,” and another who insisted that the 2nd Amendment grants the right to vote.
In addition, several students failed to identify the Pentagon’s shape, with one stating it was square, and another asserting that there were only seven U.S. senators.
When asked how many justices are on the Supreme Court, one girl attempted to clarify the question by asking, “So when you say that, do you mean like the FBI?”

Many viewers expressed disbelief at the students’ lack of knowledge, with several calling for reforms in the U.S. education system.
“I’ve never seen a better video proving why the department of education needed to be abolished,” one user wrote.
Another X user commented, “The US Department of Education really did their job, I see,” while another lamented, “Defund the department of education already. This is embarrassing.”
One commenter took to social media to argue that public education had failed the students.
“Every 8th grader should know this and definitely before graduating high school,” they wrote, criticizing the lack of basic knowledge displayed by the students in the video.
The video highlights a growing frustration with the state of education in the U.S., with critics pointing to the lack of fundamental knowledge among young adults.
While the video has certainly drawn ridicule, it has also sparked debate on the effectiveness of the current education system in preparing students for adulthood and citizenship.
As the video continues to circulate online, it has become a symbol of broader concerns about American education, with many questioning whether students are receiving the education they need to be informed, active citizens.
The footage serves as a reminder of the gap in basic civic knowledge that some young people display, prompting calls for a more rigorous approach to education in the country.
