In yet another display of left-wing hypocrisy, Bill Gates has unleashed a tirade against Elon Musk, criticizing the Tesla and SpaceX CEO for his growing influence in global politics, as reported by The Western Journal.
During an interview with The Times, the billionaire Microsoft co-founder accused Musk of “destabilizing” political situations in various countries, all while conveniently ignoring his own meddling in shaping policies worldwide.
When asked if he regretted not influencing politics like Musk, Gates smugly responded:
“Not at all. I thought the rules of the game were you picked a finite number of things to spout about that you cared for, focused on a few critical things, rather than telling people who they should vote for.”

Gates then insisted his focus has always been on aid, claiming he wasn’t “tweeting every day” about issues like Brexit, though he admitted he thought it was a mistake.
However, Gates’ holier-than-thou stance doesn’t hold up under scrutiny. His fingerprints are all over controversial policies and projects worldwide.

Whether it’s pouring millions of dollars through the Gates Foundation into climate change initiatives, promoting experimental mRNA manufacturing in Africa, or buying up American farmland to push meat alternatives, Gates has wielded his wealth to influence global agendas for decades.
But in a classic leftist twist, Gates’ real issue with Musk has nothing to do with billionaires involving themselves in politics—it’s that Musk’s politics aren’t aligned with the global left.
Musk’s support of Donald Trump, his spotlighting of groomer gangs in the UK, and his call for German sovereignty are what truly irk Gates.
Gates went as far as to suggest countries adopt safeguards to prevent “super-rich foreigners” from distorting elections.
“I think in the U.S., foreigners aren’t allowed to give money; other countries maybe should adopt safeguards to make sure super-rich foreigners aren’t distorting their elections”
Conservative commentator Victor Davis Hanson wasn’t buying Gates’ selective outrage.
“Is he joking, or simply completely misinformed?”
Hanson pointed out that Gates has been noticeably silent on foreign interference when it benefits the global left.
He referenced Christopher Steele, the British ex-spy who fabricated the infamous dossier used to smear Donald Trump in 2016, as well as the Labour Party’s recent call for British activists to interfere in American swing states on behalf of Kamala Harris’ 2024 campaign.
Bill Gates is angry that Elon Musk is editorializing on X about the internal politics of Europe, from the United Kingdom to Germany. The outraged Gates claims we don’t allow (hired) foreigners to interfere in our domestic politics and don’t do that to others.
Really?
Is he…

The hypocrisy here is glaring. Gates has no issue with billionaires influencing politics—he just can’t handle someone like Musk using his platform to challenge the left’s narrative.
As Hanson aptly put it, “So please, Mr. Gates, spare us your very selective outrage about Mr. Musk, given your prior deafening silence on hired foreign interference here and Democratic efforts to interfere in the elections of others.”
For a man who’s made billions meddling in public policy, Gates’ moral grandstanding rings hollow. If anything, Musk’s willingness to speak out against leftist groupthink is exactly the kind of influence the world could use more of.
