Comedian and television host Bill Maher delivered sharp criticism of Iran’s ruling clerics during a recent commentary in which he discussed military developments involving the country’s leadership and the circumstances surrounding reported strikes on meetings of senior figures.
Maher focused his remarks on what he described as the decisions made by leaders of Iran’s clerical government in the period leading up to military action. He argued that Iranian officials failed to anticipate the risks associated with gathering senior leadership in a single location despite heightened tensions and visible military positioning.
“One thing we do know for sure, Mullers mullahs are fucking morons,” Maher said.

Maher continued by saying that the buildup of military forces around Iran had been widely known in advance, arguing that the situation should have prompted greater caution among the country’s leadership.
“Some people on the fence about that,” Maher said. “Okay, here’s my evidence. They’ve known for months. We have all the entire military surrounding their country. Everything is aimed at them. We know that we’re ready to take them out.”
Maher then described a reported meeting involving top Iranian officials, saying the gathering placed multiple key figures in one location at a time when tensions were escalating.
“They have their big meeting. They have everybody who’s important in the country meet in one place, his office,” Maher said.

He contrasted the gathering with the possibility of holding discussions remotely.
“I mean, if we heard of a Zoom meeting,” Maher said.
“This was a boom meeting.”
Maher also referred to a subsequent meeting involving remaining officials following the initial strike.
He said another group of leaders gathered afterward despite the earlier attack.
“And then they did it again,” Maher said.
Maher described the second gathering using the name he said was given to the group, the Assembly of Experts, a body within Iran’s political structure that plays a role in overseeing leadership within the country’s government.
“They had another meeting of who was left,” Maher said.
“They call, I swear to God, this is not a joke, the Assembly of Experts.”
