A Washington, D.C., resident has drawn widespread attention online after crediting President Trump’s recent crime crackdown with making her feel “more safe than ever” in the nation’s capital.

In a video posted to TikTok, user “bigdawglexi” appeared smiling as she described the change in her day-to-day life since the new measures were implemented.

“Finally able to chill at a red light with my windows down, not worried about if one of them young niggas is coming,” she said while filming from inside her car at night. She followed with, “Riding through the city, feeling more safe than I ever felt.”

Earlier in the week, President Trump announced an extensive law enforcement operation aimed at restoring public safety in D.C.

The initiative included the deployment of 1,000 National Guardsmen to the city, responding to what the administration described as persistently high crime levels.

Under emergency authority, Trump assumed control of the Metropolitan Police Department, marking the first time a president has used executive powers to take over the capital’s police force since the Home Rule Act was passed in 1973.

Since the operation began, more than 100 individuals have been arrested, according to the White House.

The arrests have included charges related to homicide, firearms offenses, drug trafficking, lewd acts, stalking, and reckless driving.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the figures and detailed the types of offenses targeted.

These actions were described as part of a broader effort to restore order and protect residents, workers, and visitors in Washington, D.C.

The increased security presence has been visible throughout the city.

Armored vehicles and uniformed troops have been stationed at major intersections, commercial areas, and tourist attractions.

Officers have been observed setting up barricades outside government buildings and interacting with visitors.

One incident tied to the enforcement effort drew particular attention online. Sean Charles Dunn, a Justice Department employee, was arrested and charged with felony assault after allegedly throwing a Subway sandwich at a law enforcement officer.

Video of the altercation circulated widely, showing the moment the sandwich was thrown. Dunn was later terminated from his position at the department.

The president’s actions have drawn significant public interest and sparked ongoing conversations in the city about security, public safety, and federal authority over local law enforcement.

For some residents, like Lexi, the impact is already being felt in their daily lives.
