President Donald Trump on Tuesday sharply criticized court rulings that have stalled key elements of his immigration enforcement agenda, warning that continued judicial interference could endanger the country’s safety, as reported by Fox News.
Speaking at the White House, the president said delays in deporting criminal illegal immigrants are obstructing his administration’s ability to remove violent offenders.
“I hope we get cooperation from the courts,” Trump said. “Because, you know, we have thousands of people that are ready to go out, and you can’t have a trial for all of these people. The system wasn’t meant—and we don’t think there’s anything that says that.”

Trump said that recent judicial decisions have slowed down the removal of individuals he described as “killers, murderers, drug dealers,” and warned that failure to act swiftly could result in a “very dangerous country.”
Since returning to the Oval Office in January, Trump’s administration has faced a wave of legal challenges to immigration-related executive actions.
On March 15, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg issued a temporary block on the administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport criminal gang members to El Salvador.

The U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments on May 15 concerning three nationwide injunctions issued by federal judges against Trump’s executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship for children born to illegal immigrants.

The president drew a contrast between current efforts and the previous administration’s policies, blaming President Joe Biden’s term for overwhelming the border system.
“We were having hundreds of thousands of people a month come in under Biden. They came in from prisons. They came in from mental institutions. They came in from gangs in Venezuela and other countries all over the world.”
Trump said foreign governments, including Venezuela and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, emptied prisons and released inmates across the U.S. border.

“I won an election based on the fact that we get them out,” he said. “And a judge can say, ‘No, you have to have a trial.’ The trial’s going to take two years. Now we’re going to have a very dangerous country if we’re not allowed to do what we’re entitled to do.”
