Chief Border Patrol Agent Greg Bovino told Fox News host Harris Faulkner Wednesday that he would be showing a federal judge videos of assaults suffered by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in the Chicago area.
United States District Judge Sarah Ellis of the Northern District of Illinois, an Obama appointee, ordered Bovino to meet with her daily after attorneys for anti-ICE rioters claimed ICE violated her order barring the use of riot control tactics except in the case of a threat to agents. Bovino told Faulkner that he welcomed the chance to give Ellis “a very good first-hand look” at what ICE agents faced during their operations in Chicago. “Over three decades, I’ve had the opportunity to interact with many judges. Each judge is different. Each judge does things a different way and this is an adapt to the situation type thing,” Bovino told Faulkner. “If she wants to meet with me every day, then she is going to see, she is going to have a very good first-hand look at just how bad things really are on the streets of Chicago. I look forward to meeting with that judge to show her exactly what is happening and the extreme amount of violence perpetrated against law enforcement here.”

ICE facilities in Chicago have been the scene of multiple riots as opposition to the agency’s operations targeting illegal immigrants has intensified. Some of the rioters in Chicago called for the ICE agents to be arrested or shot in a video posted online during one of the riots.
“What she needs to see is this video, what it is like when you go in and out of the courthouse to see her every day. That’s part of the story, too,” Faulkner responded as video from an Oct. 2 operation that anti-ICE rioters targeted aired. “DHS posted video on the incident showing you and what your agents were up against and if people haven’t seen this, the Department of Homeland Security put out this video on its website and we have a close-up look at that now.”
“You were hit in the head by a rock hurled by a rioter. Multiple rocks and other objects, I saw a bottle full of water, I would assume, so heavy, thrown at the heads of people there to your agents,” Faulkner continued. “Fireworks shot towards the agents, we also see someone with a knife appearing to slash or try to slash a government vehicle’s tire and multiple warnings to the crowd to back up. Chief Bovino, talk to me about this day.” (RELATED: ‘In The Crosshairs Of Terrorists’: Acting ICE Director Says Cartels Placing Bounties On Agents)
Bovino told Faulkner that after he left the federal courthouse, he went with agents on an operation and that 70 vehicles were trying to obstruct them, leading to arrests.
“What you see in that video, that’s reality,” he told Faulkner. Bovino also told Faulkner later in the interview he didn’t get a chance to tell Ellis about the bounty on his head during Tuesday’s hearing.
Juan Espinoza Martinez, an illegal immigrant who is a member of the Latin Kings gang, was arrested and charged with offering $10,000 for Bovino’s death and $2,000 for information on the Border Patrol chief, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
