Boston Mayor Offers Condolences to Knife-Wielding Psycho, Ignores Cop’s Heroic Actions [WATCH]

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is facing criticism after expressing condolences for a man shot and killed by an off-duty police officer while attempting to stab two people at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in the city.

The incident occurred Saturday at Copley Square, where Boston police reported that two individuals ran into the restaurant while being pursued by a man armed with a knife.

The suspect attempted to stab them before being confronted by an off-duty police officer inside the establishment.

According to Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox, the officer identified himself and ordered the suspect to drop the weapon.

“The officer then instructed the man to drop the weapon, to which he did not comply,” Cox stated.

Later that evening, Mayor Wu addressed the incident at a press conference and extended her sympathies—not to the individuals who were nearly stabbed, but to the family of the attacker.

“My condolences and all of our thoughts are with the family of the individual whose life has been lost,” Wu said.

“I am also thinking of all the people who were impacted here today in one of the busier parts of the city with this tragedy. I’m glad the officer is safe and very grateful for a quick response from all of our first responders.”

Wu’s remarks drew immediate backlash, with many questioning why her first public statement on the attack centered on the suspect rather than the victims or the officer who intervened.

“An off-duty police officer in Boston saved lives on Saturday by neutralizing a knife-wielding maniac who chased two people into a Chick-fil-A. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu reacted by bizarrely giving condolences TO THE ATTACKER. Democrat leaders treat criminals as victims,” one person wrote on social media.

Another user expressed outrage at Wu’s response, writing, “The Boston Mayor is offering her condolences to the family of the victims… wait never mind she’s offering condolences to the person who tried to MURDER people. WTF??”

Others criticized Wu for failing to acknowledge the bravery of the officer or explicitly recognizing the bystanders who were nearly attacked.

“These so-called political leaders are despicable. How about thoughts and prayers for the cop and his family who acted bravely to save our citizens?” one person commented.

“They tell you who they really care about… certainly NOT the tourists visiting Boston nor the victims of the attempted stabbings,” another said.

Wu has not publicly responded to the criticism.

Meanwhile, the mayor is set to testify before Congress on March 5 regarding Boston’s approach to immigration enforcement.

Border Czar Tom Homan has been vocal in his criticism of Wu and the city’s leadership for refusing to cooperate with federal deportation efforts.

“The police commissioner of Boston [Michael Cox]. You said you’d double down on not helping law enforcement officers with ICE. I’m coming to Boston and I’m bringing hell with me,” Homan warned on February 23.

Wu dismissed Homan’s comments, calling them “clueless.”

“It’s pretty clueless for someone to be insulting our police commissioner,” Wu said at an event Monday.

“We want to be sure to say Boston is welcoming and safe for everyone.”

She reiterated that message during a Spanish-language radio appearance on WNUR 1600 AM, assuring listeners that Boston remains safe for immigrant communities.

She also claimed that federal immigration enforcement under President Trump’s second term has not increased compared to previous years.

Mayor Wu previously made headlines in 2023 after hosting a “no whites” Christmas party for “electeds of color,” an event that sparked accusations of racism.

Her office has not responded to requests for comment regarding her statement on Saturday’s shooting.
