BREAKING: NATO Chief Says No NATO Membership for Ukraine; Ukraine Ceasefire Soon?

Our “allies,” the Democrats, and the Pravda Media can’t wrap their minds around the fact that Trump actually knows what he is doing. 

Trump is only human, of course, but it often seems like he has some magic force that bends reality to his will, and what he wills is peace, a strong America, and prosperity for all. Even when his moves seem rather dangerous, things tend to work out in ways that are beyond expectation. 

Such is the case when negotiating an end to the Ukraine War. The Oval Office blowup? Long in the past, and the Ukrainians are adjusting to the reality that Trump is their necessary patron and that the end of the war is in sight. 

The ceasefire? It just took one HUGE step to becoming an established reality. After Trump’s meeting with Mark Rutte, the Secretary General of NATO, plans to include Ukraine in the alliance appear to have been scrapped. 

Whether it is true or not, and I believe it to be PARTIALLY true, Vladimir Putin has long asserted that the threat of Ukraine’s membership of NATO was a proximate cause of the current conflict, and that admission of Ukraine to NATO in the future was a red line beyond which he could not go. 

Now that appears to be off the table, as is potential normalization of relations with Russia. The European plan to split Russia into smaller countries–essentially to present an existential threat to the Russian state and its sovereignty–is being abandoned. 

Whew! I don’t relish the thought of World War II myself. That’s just me, of course. YMMV. Maybe you like nuclear fallout?

Russia currently has Ukrainian troops encircled on the Eastern front, and they could easily destroy them. So far they have refrained from doing so, after big threats for Donald Trump to punish Russia with vastly increased sanctions. 

Because Trump is handling his allies with something less than a velvet glove, Putin knows his fate would be much worse, so apparently he has given orders to stand down.

That sure looks like a cease fire at a critical point on the front, and is LIKELY a preview to a full-blown ceasefire and the beginning of negotiations. We will have to wait and see if the rumors prove to be true, but I would bet that is the direction things are going. 

Rutte knows better than the EU leaders that NATO is a paper tiger without the United States, and that the free ride is over. I can’t see into his head, but it is likely from his recent statements that he thinks the path that EU leaders are taking is foolish and dangerous. He wants to keep Trump in the alliance rather that throw a tantrum like Ursula von der Leyen and the strategic midgets running too many European Union countries.

Adjust to reality, folks. Our current president is not senile. 

It is too soon to pop the champagne, and champagne will be hit by huge tariffs unless the EU caves to Trump’s demands, but things look good right now. 

So stock up some California or better yet Argentine sparkling wine and be prepared to celebrate peace breaking out in Europe. 

UPDATE: Putin kinda sorta agreed to accept a surrender of the surrounded troops.

BREAKING: President Putin responded to President Trump  regarding his appeal to spare Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region:

“We have read today’s appeal from President Trump to spare the lives of servicemen of the Ukrainian Army in the Kursk region. In this regard, please note that Ukrainian militants have committed numerous crimes against civilians. These acts, as I have already stated, are classified by us as terrorism. At the same time, we are sympathetic to President Trump’s call to be guided by humanitarian considerations regarding these servicemen. In this regard, I emphasize that if they lay down their arms and surrender, they will be guaranteed life and dignified treatment. To effectively implement President Trump’s call, there must be an appropriate order from the military and political leadership of Ukraine to its troops to lay down their arms and surrender.”
