BREAKING: Two MN State Officials Shot in the Homes by Gunman Dressed as Law Enforcement UPDATES

There isn’t a lot of information yet, but here’s what I have.

Sources have told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS’ Tom Hauser that two Minnesota Lawmakers have been shot.

Minnesota state senator John Hoffman in Champlin and Minnesota state representative Melissa Hortman in Brooklyn Park were reportedly shot in their homes by a gunman impersonating a police officer.

A manhunt is currently underway in Brooklyn Park for a man pretending to be a police officer.

The suspect, according to the alert, is a white man with brown hair wearing black body armor over a blue shirt and blue pants. Authorities are asking residents not to approach the suspect if spotted.

Brooklyn Park Police Department has put out an advisory and a warning NOT to approach should you encounter or spot the suspect..

They are both Democrats, and Representative Hortman had just voted across party lines to strip illegals out of the Minnesota healthcare system. (Apparently, Speaker Hortman did so as part of a quid pro quo with Republicans to advance the legislation. Sen Hoffman DID NOT vote for it in the state senate.)

Is that a motive or any part of this ghastly event? Too soon to say.

Updating as I hear more on how everyone is doing.

The suspect was impersonating a police officer before shooting them, according to police.

OMG Speaker Hortman and her husband were killed. Our prayers and deepest condolences go out to their families.

Senator Hoffman and his wife underwent surgery and are fighting for their lives in the hospital.

Apparently, there was a gunfight between the vile assassin and law enforcement responding to a call about the incident, but he got away.

The cops had been asked to check on the Speaker, and they caught the assassin standing at the door, dressed as a police officer. He started firing and ducked back into the house. Had body armor vest, whole police kit and was driving a police-like SUV.

When police got into the house, there was a male body on the floor. They got him out – Speaker Hortman’s husband – and as they cleared the home after surrounding it, they found her.

The suspect escaped on foot. They have his vehicle.

Brooklyn Park police will only come to your home in pairs. They are warning the public NOT to answer the door if there’s a single officer. Call the police.

MORE: When they searched the vehicle, there was a manifesto with numerous lawmakers on it. They’ve alerted them all.
